Hi all,

Thanks to everyone who answers our questions - I've learned so much about the DV process since reading this forum. It's great!

I have some specific questions about the DS260 that I would appreciate advice on

APOSTROPHES - all of us (my husband, children, parents) have apostrophes in our name (eg O'Brien). The DS260 does not accept the apostrophe. We have opted to put the name in without the apostrophe (eg OBRIEN). Does anyone forsee problems with us putting our name in this way?

DEGREES (PART 1)- the form is asking for dates of commencement. Our degrees give a date of completion but not of commencement beyond year. I could try and find out the academic calendar for the years we studied but it was over 20 years ago and it's not necessarily easily accessible information. As our academic year is a calendar year in AUstralia, would putting 01/01/1993, for example, suffice?

DEGREES (PART 2) - my academic transcripts have a date of completion that differs to the date on my degree, which shows the date of conferment. I would appreciate advice on which date would be the more accurate one.

SUPERVISORS - in at least two of my jobs, I had multiple supervisors. In one job alone, there were four supervisors in the period of a year as we worked on a rotational basis. The form asks for one supervisor. I was intending, for accuracy sake, putting the last supervisor in and then sending supplementary information to the KCC about the names of other supervisors. I presume this would be the best way to accurately convey my employment history, but I would appreciate your thoughts.

VACCINATIONS - we have decided to get our vaccinations done now so that we can honestly answer the question about whether we have documentation to prove that we have complied. I'm assuming that, if we do this, we can honestly answer 'yes' to that question? It doesn't need to be documentation from the panel physician I presume?

I think that's all the questions! I've been trying to save them up so I don't bombard the forum with my brain f*rts! Appreciate any advice you guys can offer.

I would say for apostrophes, just omit them, but I'll defer to anyone else who has more experience with that issue.

For degrees, I had the same issue (parts 1). I put approximate dates as I best remembered them.

I keep a document of notes for myself for the interview, and I just added an entry so that I would remember to bring it up if, during the interview, they ask if everything on DS-260 is accurate. I will mention I was unsure of the school dates but I put what I best remembered.

The instructions for the form allows that, as it asks you to swear that everything has been answered truthfully to the best of your understanding and recollection.
