If Problem in AOS Application Would One Still Be Able to Pay IV Fee?

Just a question for those that intimately understand the NVC process - I surely don't! I was thinking that things are going pretty fast now and if I am going to be disappointed with a checklist or other request for information. I've already submitted the AOS documentation and application and today I just paid the IV Fee. Is it possible to pay the IV Fee if there is a problem with the documentation or AOS application? I mean, does paying the IV Fee mean I'm at the next step or could the NVC come back and punch me in the stomach with a false or legit checklist for the AOS portion?

Still trying to figure this out.

The IV fee is generated when your DS-261 is accepted, it's not related at all to your AOS. The only way to know if you're all clear with the AOS documents is to call and ask. Good luck!
