TEMPE, Ariz. - An Arizona woman is facing child abuse charges after police said she forced a 3-year-old girl to eat her own feces after having an accident in the bathtub.

According to court documents, the victim told her mother that she had defecated in the tub while spending the week at her father's house in Tempe.

The young girl said her father's girlfriend, 27-year-old Nicole Candelaria, became upset and forced the girl to eat her own feces. The victim also alleged that Candelaria forcefully held her down on the toilet seat, sister-station KNXV reported.

According to the report, the victim's siblings -- a 3-year-old twin and a 5-year-old -- also reported that Candelaria made the victim eat her own feces.

The victim was taken to a local hospital where she had a forensic medical exam. The exam showed bruising to the girl's sides, back, chest and legs, court documents stated.

Candelaria reportedly told authorities the victim "lies often" and denied injuring the child or making her eat her own feces.

Court documents showed that Candelaria lives with the three children and is the primary caregiver while the children's father is at work.

She was booked into the Tempe City Jail on one count of child abuse/domestic violence.

Candelaria has since posted bond and has a court appearance scheduled for May 23.

I say when she goes to jail, they should give her feces for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
