Hello VJers, I am a K1 beneficiary and I just got my marriage license last week so I decided to fill the forms for the AOS but honestly I'm very confused about the whole thing. I will be glad to get guidance from the forum. There are some field I do not know how or what to write there on the forms. I-131 part 1 information about me was easy but the rest part of that form I don't even know what to put there. Like where am I going to and when. Honestly I'm not going anywhere soon. Then for the I-765 there was a question about current immigration status in number 15. In number 16 and 17 I don't know what they mean about that question. Plz some one should help. Also the I-485 they asked for my non immigrant visa number I don't know which of the numerous numbers on my visa is the right one and also is the alien number the one on my visa that starts with A#2065........? Please I will be very happy if I can get help from fellow members here. Thanks guys.

The A# is the one that begins with A. It can also be found on the NOA2 approval notice from the I-129F petition near the beneficiary's name. If the A# on the visa and on the NOA2 do not match, then use the one on the NOA2. The non-immigrant visa number is the one in red on the lower right of the visa. Your current status and class of admission is K-1 Visa.

There are several parts of the I-131 that are skipped when filing for AP. You will go from the first section of part 3 to part 7. You do not need to state where you are going or why. No extra statement of a reason for you needing AP is required either. If you have no date of travel, leave the date and length blank and then hand write Unknown in those fields after printing out the form. See the example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-131.pdf

The category for #16 of the I-765 is (c )(9 ), which is adjustment applicant. It tells the categories in the form instructions. See the example form > http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-765.pdf

And just to be sure you know, you cannot file for AOS using your marriage license. You need to use a copy of your marriage certificate that you get back from the court after your marriage has been registered.
