EAD rejected and what is the cost for AOS now?? HELP!!

If a Adjustment of Status was filed (I-485 and I-130) than the I-765 EAD is free correct so the total charges are $1070?

I ask because a friend just got her EAD sent back one the stupid lawyer (she should have talked to me first) used the wrong version of the form so USCIS sent back to her and said correct and sent her her check for $380 she sent that with EAD.

She said total she had Money orders for $1870. By the way she is adjusting from a tourist visa.

Now she has me so confused and she isn't sure what the lawyer files so I have asked her to please call USCIS and find out. It's been 4 weeks since she filed. What a mess. Help any insight on this?

My husband just filed for AOS from a K-1, and the I 485, I-131, and, the I-765 cost us $1070.

ROC

3.6.2017     Mailed I-751

3.7.2017     NOA sent

3.23.2017   Biometrics Appointment

2.26.2018   I-751 Transferred to Local Office

3.5.2018     I-751 Received in Local Office

5.1.2018     Case Transferred; Preliminary Review Done; transferred to NBC in Lee's Summit, MO

5.3.2018     Case Transferred

7.24.2018   Joint interview approved

7.30.2018   Green Card received

Naturalization

3.15.2018   Filed N 400 Online

3.15.2018   USCIS sent the receipt

3.16.2018   USCIS sent biometrics letter

6.14.2018   Interview Notice sent

7.24.2018   Naturalization Interview; approved

9.26.2018   Oath Ceremony Scheduled

na -D, fees are wrong.

AOS without I-130 is 1070.

add in the I-130, another 420.

They could have refiled the EAD with a photocopy of the I-485 receipt notice, and had the fee for the EAD waived.

Easy Peasy.

They will reject the payment and send the money back. It is not correct.

I-130: $420

I-485: $1070

EAD & AP fees waived based on pending I-485.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Thank you for this I see how the idiot lawyer who charged her $600 to file (I would have been free) got the numbers

AOS= $1070

I-130 = $420

EAD = $380

Total $1870 what she sent. Now she is too scared not to send the $380 back even though they said in letter the amount is incorrect.Her mail is going to another address so she doesn't know if she has NOA1 for EAD. Hopefully she does. She so scared she won;t even call USCIS. She thinks they will just refund the overpayment. I told her no they will keep rejecting your application until you stop sending the overpayment. They aren't a bank.

So I pray between now and tomorrow when I go pick her up she wises up. :wow::bonk:

I told her the same. I told her as much as I talk about immigration. You know what I went through with your husband. I am so sure. :luv:

But thank goodness she finally believes me and I sent her the actually instructions and though she is heartbroken it was sent back and there's a delay (she really wants to get to working) she is happy that she has $380.
