Hi guys first of all my girlfriend wants to immigrate(perminant residant) to the USA along with our 4 children. Me being me I said sure let's make a go of it , and know not just me but we all have our hearts set on starting a new life for the kids as I don't want my kids raised in the uk not that its a bad place I just want the best for my children. Then I realised gee there are hell of a lot of visa,s out there and the povity guidline is $60,000 :/ yeah I know that's a lot right , I thought yeah I can save money , was thinking I could save up half and get loaned half , but then it dawned on me that taking out a loan .

So my questions are ....

1. What type of visa would I need to apply for all of us to immigrate to the us as perminant residents?

2. Would taking out a loan in the uk cause a refusal of entry for my visa application?

3. How long after you receive your immigrant visa are you able to look for work?

If any of you can point me in the right direction I would widley appreshiate it .

Thanks for your time

Matthew

Matthew, IMHO you can go about it in different ways:

1 - Start looking for jobs in the US and find an employer that in agreeing to hire you will initiate the process of obtaining a work visa for you.

2 - Consider coming to the US to further your studies and use the time while you're here to network and find out if there are any employers that might be interested in hiring you.

3 - Check the DV Lottery - https://www.dvlottery.state.gov/ where you can submit your application for a greencard lottery.

Unfortunately there are no easy ways to get to America with a work permit or a residence card, so you either find an employer willing to get you a work permit, or you come to study and try and find if you can get a job in your field of study and one by a employer willing to sponsor your, or get in the lottery and hope for the best.

I hope these suggestions help. Perhaps others may pitch in with other ideas.

Good luck!

Then you can't just uproot your family from UK and move over to US.

Go read this website.

http://www.uscis.gov/greencard

http://www.uscis.gov/green-card/green-card-through-job

You can move to US through the work visas (H and L which are dual intent), family based visas(you being immediate relative of a US citizen or family member of a green card holder), or investment visas (EB5). For the investment visa you need $500k-$1m to invest. For work, you need find a employer who are willing to sponsor you.

Done with K1, AOS and ROC

But her auntie lives over there but she told us to sort it all out our selfes

You have really no way to immigrate. You can't just do that because you want to. Only ways are either through work (need to find employer willing to sponsor you for a green card - work visas are temporary and eventually expire) or through a family.

Unfortunately family based visas are only possible through direct relations, i.e. her aunt can't apply for a visa for her.

Have a look at this, where it explains family based visas: http://www.uscis.gov/family/family-us-citizens

Thanks ever so much for your help guys , so if I found someone willing to sponser me for a green card would that include my family or just me ?

Read this to see what an employer has to do and the advanced degrees or special skills you must have. And that they must get a Labor Certification saying they advertised for American workers and could find none with your skills for the job. The brochure also answers your family question.

Your not really getting it... Family based visas are.... US Citizen or LPR husband or wife petitioning spouse or USC fiancé petitioning for fiancé (neither of which apply) ... USC parent petitioning for children, or USC petitioning for brother or sister... There is NO option for aunts, uncles, cousins etc... Petitioning (sponsoring) your visa!

It is not legally or realistically possible for someone to just decide... Ok, lets move to the USA today... Otherwise there are many impoverished countries that would be emptied out by now. Sorry... Time to formulate a new plan...

I will add, work visas, if you found an employer and met the criteria, would include your family...

America is very hard to emigrate to without an immediate family member living there. That's why you'll see on this forum and other places so many instances of people desperate to move there scamming Americans into marrying them, then disappearing once they have their green card. America doesn't have a working holiday visa like say Australia for example, you need to be someone with super awesome skills or get an inter-company transfer.

Maybe Australia would be a better bet?

ROC from CR-1 visa (Green Card expiration date was Nov 24th 2016)

Link to the evidence I submitted. Be sure to send evidence spanning your entire marriage (especially for K-1) or as far back as you can. Just one or two bank statements will not cut it. I primarily focused on the two years of living here since I came in on a CR-1. If you don't have the fundamentals (i.e. joint accounts/policies), you can explain why in the covering letter. E.g. "While we do not have joint utilities, we both contribute to them from our joint bank account".

February 26th 2018: I-751 case number (aka the NOA1 receipt number) becomes trackable
March 14th 2018: Submitted service request due to being outside of processing time.

March 15th 2018: ROC approved. 535 days (1 year, 5 months and 17 days)

March 29th 2018: Card being produced

April 4th 2018: Card mailed out

April 6th 2018: Card in hand. Has incorrect "resident since" date. Submitted service request on I-751 case (typographical error on permanent resident card) and an I-90 online.

April 2018 - August 7th 2018: Tons of service requests, emails and now senator involvement to get my corrected green card back because what the heck, USCIS. Also some time in May I sent a letter to Potomac telling them I want to withdraw my I-90 since CSC were handling it.

August 8th 2018: Card in production thanks to the direct involvement of Senator Sherrod Brown's team

August 13th 2018: Card mailed

August 15th 2018: Card in hand with correct date. :joy:

October 31st 2018: Potomac sends out a notice stating they have closed out my I-90 per my request. Yay for no duplicate card drama.

IF you are looking for a new start/country, you could try Canada. They have different requirements for immigration. Some parts are crying out for Nurses. Is either you are your spouse a nurse?

Or how about Australia or New Zealand. These places are still more open to the idea of family immigration I understand and they drive on the correct side of the road.

Where is your wife from? I ask because you put permanent resident in brackets.
