Hello guys!

I am new to this forum and I want to congratulate you for the good job done here, it's very helpful and I was able to find a lot of information.

My application has been selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for the fiscal year 2015.

I went through the DS-260 form yesterday and I realized that there are a lot of uncertainties on how to correctly fill this form in order to prevent disqualification from the process. I would like to share some of my questions with you and I hope to get some answers back.

  1. The first question is related to the submission deadline for the DS-260. Is there a deadline for submitting this form, and does the submission date affects tha chances of getting an interview?
  2. When I firstly applied for the lottery I was officialy unmarried but engaged and living with my girlfriend for a long time, so I was forced to submitt the application as single. Than she got pregnant in November 2013 and we decided to get married on May 02, 2014 just to prevent surname problems for the baby. Is there a problem that my marriage date correspond to the date that the Diversity Visa Program announced the results? My baby is due on August 20, 2014, should I wait for him to be born and after that submitt all the DS-260 for the whole family, I am not clear what is the procedure in this case, it seems to me like a very special case? If I submitt all the forms together in August does this reduces my chances for getting an interview? My wife changed her surname after getting married to me and now she is using mine. When I am going to add her as a new person of my family in my application which surname should I use?
  3. My case number is 2015EU0003XXXX. Given that this a quite big number, does this mean that my chances for a visa are very small?

Thank you in advance for your answers!!

There is no real deadline other than needing it to be done in time before they run out of visas or Sept30 2015.

Your number is high enough that you don't need to rush, but not so high that you need worry about not getting a visa! So it may be easier to wait till baby is born before you submit. You will not be prejudiced at all by sending your forms in in August.

They are less concerned about marriage date than the marriage not being a green card marriage - so you will need to prove a bona fide relationship. A kid is pretty good proof of that ;) ...and you will obviously have other proof too.
