& historically speaking...we are currently running a manageable debt/gdp ratio. (but) The debt clock keeps ticking up by the second.

I wonder A) How long b4 we are staring down Global financial apocalypse. 22 trillion? B) (and if we ain't gonna reduce debt) Can the country get to a GDP % & maintain it - which out paces debt interest? & how long will that last? C) When will the next monetary / currency evolution occur & how much havoc will that wreak & for how long....?

I think - We gotta methodically reduce trade with China (and / or do the Romney/Trump Currency Manipulator dance) ...bring it home AND South of the Border. (more jobs down south would also reduce illegal migration) We gotta bring Foreign profits home...repatriate via tax incentives and then create a stay home tax policy (think Texas). 12-15 % of something is better than 0 of 0. We gotta shift power and regulation back to states which reduces fed overhead and increases fed efficiency. ...etc...

Otherwise...we don't have a long term fix..& it's just a matter of time = Credit Cards are maxed out again & we are facing a meltdown...again.

There is no doubt that the national debt poses a huge problem in the future. How it will be managed remains to be seen. I honestly don't have near the financial prowess required to take a guess.

As for getting jobs back home, I'm all for it, but it poses a big problem in regards to American workers being willing to work for lower wages. The only way these companies that are currently using cheap overseas labor can return their manufacturing to the US and still be competitive on the global market, is for the American worker to work for less money. I don't see that happening.

Solution = 1) Reduce federal corporate tax rate to 15%. 2) Corporation domiciles in a no state income tax state. 3) State regulates

No income tax states operate similar to a consumption tax. That means most of the tax is paid by employees & corporate sales tax. ( & an additional way to lure in the corp...states could incent via property tax waivers)

This would offset costs of doing biz here versus China & fed revenues would increase to something of something instead of nothing of nothing. AND...that might give the fed the revenue via corporate manufacturing muscle to pay down the debt....

It's obviously more complicated but this is my nutshell opinion.

It may sound good on paper, but if it was really that easily done, why did these companies leave in droves in the first place? It costs big money to up and move a huge corporation and it's facilities and set up shop in other countries. You would think if there was something worth hanging around for, they would have done it.

Cheap labor, corporate tax rates & regulation (it's okay to destroy the ecosystem of other countries) & get in between China & Russia. (but) Little by little - China's cheap labor ain't so cheap anymore. It seems to me - Our gov could balance the scale ...now.

I would also like to see the corporate greed take a bit of a back seat to get the jobs back here and start putting American workers back on top. But that's asking a lot.

My message was basically, that even though something does not violate the TOS and even though everyone else does it, if you get reported a couple of times they will take action.

& I think any1 which participates in this forum should do so with eyes wide open & refrain from using the report button. I haven't always thought this way...but ...it's a rule I intend to follow.

I think , for the most part, we can police ourselves. & it seems - what I observe ....voluntarily ignoring a post or letting one slide has become more common than not. (but) Maybe that's coz the mods have filtered out the Instigators and Chronic Offenders...?

Having a report button in this forum is like having a gallon of gas on hand to put out a fire. Useless really and just makes things worse more often than not. In the upper forums the report button has it's value, but not here.

Yeah...I admit...I've utilized the report button for some petty reasons including pay back or to decry (perceived) mod hypocrisy.

I think I am past that phase in my personal development. I will not use that button in THIS forum.

Good point. I didn't see the thread evolve...didn't even realize it was nuked until I read (the name which is forbidden to mention) 's post about it.

The word "all" should almost never be used and a different qualifier or quantifier should be inserted in most cases.
