HI everyone,

As a DV2015 winner been reading through net and found this forum rather helpful. Would help me more if you could answer me some questions.

1) Whats the deadline for submitting the DS 260 form ?

2) Do my spouse need to fill it separately too? (I've been married recently, before my lottery application, not included in it)

3) Is it necessary to write an US address in DS 260 form?

4) When can I expect an interview? (case number 2015EU00028xxx)

5) Case number low/high, what does it mean? Does it indicate the chance of successful application?

6) What are my real chances getting an green card, and if I can get one how often should I go to USA to validate it?

Thank you in advance

1. No deadline as such but you need to ensure it has reached KCC with enough time for them to process you and schedule you an interview. Remember your visa needs to be issued by Sept 30 2015.

2. Yes your spouse needs to fill one in. I'm not clear on your sentence - you married after you sent in the entry I presume? (You said "before", though. If it was before and you didn't include your spouse you can stop right there, as this will disqualify you.)

3. Apparently according to others doing ds260. You do need a green card mailing address.

4. Will leave to others

5. Case number determines when you interview. The higher the number, the later the interview , the higher the chance they may runout if visas.

6. You will get an immigrant visa which will convert to a green card if you meet all the requirements. You are expected to move to the US. You will need to activate it before the expiry date of the visa and will need to move within a year thereafter. Some people think you can keep a green card active by just visiting regularly, this generally doesn't last beyond a couple of visits before CBP hauls you over the coals. You will need to demonstrate you have maintained residence, this includes a residence, bank accounts, paying taxes, job/income, etc.
