08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Thank you everyone for the well wishes for kiddo. :)

Supper was good. When i was growing up, in BC, I called it Dinner. Then I spent 10 years in Alberta where Dinner was a meal that happened after breakfast and before 5pm (aka anything "lunch" time.. You at dinner at lunch... doesn't make sense to me either...) but essentially I called it supper so people would no longer be confused. Now that habit is hard to break but as long as everyone understands that I mean the evening meal, my point is made and we can all sing songs and hold hands.

Last night while trying to do some midnight 4x4ing (I say try because the trail was so groomed an accord could have done it) we passed by "The Brotherhood of the White Temple." Google it... Creepy.

We do have a translation problem in Texas,

and use the following query to be certain -

'Did you mean Dinner Lunch or Dinner Supper?'

I used to blame it on the implanted people here for the oil business in Houston and the Tech Sector in Dallas,

but

Jeff FoxWorthy finally declared it an issue, and talked of it, often, and cleared it up..

We still gotta query, exactly as I writ above ;)

Sunday Thread-Laundress Report: Did Many (6) loads for first time in long time, sigh man; the Manyth (6th) is baking in the dryer right now.
