oh and for the record...she is the one who sent me emails about how her son has potential and we are free to stay here for 2 years if needed should we get married and telling me that he loves me and just needs a little help and while it was not the perfect situation she would be happy if we stayed in the house. She did not think I had a personality and thought I was easily manipulated, quiet and without opinions and she would have another basket case to deal with and feel superior over just like her other daughter in law and miss -calculated. That is probably the one single thing hardest on her and that is something she will have to find a way to deal with.

She had to do very little for me this entire time and it probably makes her more mad than anything else. I don't need her like everyone else in the house seems to, I take charge of things that go on in my own life..I don't come crying to her asking to fix her own son so we can be together. I tell her not to get involved that it is between me and him as it should be - her yelling at her son to do something is not the solution....that is what is hard on her.

I think as long as you are in the same household you should pretend to be dependent upon her. She likes the power. Don't be a mug and do all the cleaning for her. Pretend to be a wimp .

An Indian friend of mine once said, "all women have to be actresses" - at the time I disagreed, but as I have gotten older , I tend to agree.

You are a strong, independent woman. Ply the fool, stash some savings then beak free from this nightmare you are living.

Sorry to say it, but I don't think hubs will ever get it together enough to break free. Sometimes it is OK to be selfish.

If I was Js MIL.....

Well if I was Js MIL, I'd lose about a hundred pounds.....

But if I was Js MIL.....

The poor girl moved a thousand miles to be with her son. It didn't work.

I'd treat J like a guest until she can stand on her own. And then, have a nice life. Thanks for trying.

J is not a package from amazon that if you don't like it, you just send it back.....

found that.. wasn't sure if it was right. After all anyone can put up a youtube video.

Is that where they tried the nazi war criminals after WW II? :)

No Steve.

It's where they test sports cars.

when I say it...it comes out different honestly....the first "u" I personally pronounce a little differently but it is good enough...personal opinion of a distant German national ;)

I've never taken German in my life or heard many speak it so that's why i ask. I took French in High School. I can read it much better than I speak it as well.

no need to explain I get it especially since with this is one ...it seems like everyone pronounces it differently.....

I took German in primary school and high school and French in college and when I was back home for a year...dont speak it though...I can read and understand. German ? I was fluent but since I haven't used it for so long....it was replaced by Italian. Again..can read, write and understand but speaking is lacking atm...want to get back to both French and German and same goes for Spanish..took that for 3 years used to speak it and now only understand and read about 75% of the usual language nothing too complicated :(

love how they all sound but then again....I love all foreign languages.

Shouldn't ask me - I took a year of German in high school and a semester in college and I am no good at it.
