Well when I was in middle school, I was in the bottom class for a language and my friend in the top. I didn't resent it at all. The pressure was taken off,

Latin is a very logical language and helps with English . It should be compulsory IMO .

I dunno....it is a dead language so its use would be very "limited".

We learn a lot of latin in biology at school and what not since it is compulsory to know all the animals and body parts and plants etc. in latin..I think that is enough. And of course when I went to church as a child it was all in latin, we sang in latin.

Probably not something that happens in the US though so I guess I see what you mean. Incorporating a little might be useful. I don't know how much it helped me. Cannot assess (hope I spelled that right) that in any way.

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

For me at least, I got the same benefit out of taking both French and Spanish and seeing the Latin roots in them and in English.

I took French in high school, but there were three guys in the class and many young ladies. My mind was never on the French as a result. I still have buried deep in my brain some understanding of the language, as my grandparents spoke French all the time, when I was quite young. The parental generation told them to stop that though, as us grandchildren were picking up French and they wanted us speaking English.

1- Shippingforecast sounds a lot like our friend Buckwheat from the north.....

2- Shippingforecast, you have like the longest name in the history of VJ. You better come up with a nickname or we're not lettin' you play here.... (If you notice, everyone has a nickname, except of course, me....because I'm the most serious person here)

Don't let him fool you, his nickname is midget boatman.

How about Dr Porcelain for our new friend?

I tried to link to it, to no avail. My name is Alexander so I have been known on occasion to play this song live... Although in honesty I actually really dislike being called Al...

I realise that's an open invitation for everyone on this thread to start calling me it.

How about Axman?

There seems to be a lot of suggestions, so I suggest we take a poll;

1) Bundy

2) X-Man

3) Dr Porcelain

4) Axman

Or maybe pool the three into Dr X Bundyman, although that's still quite a mouthful.

Haven't attempted eating just yet, didn't eat yesterday either so I'm ravenous... Think I'll throw some jeans on and head out for some lunch, casually infect a few strangers, and the like.

Curling with cars is a favorite activity in Duluth Minnesota winters, I've heard.

In other news.. this is funny

and I'm glad I never have to deal with that much snow and ice again!

That's what your neighborhood needs, a good epidemic just as the weekend starts. It will keep the traffic down while you fuel back up.

I eat bell peppers just like an apple, same with tomatoes or onions (although depends on how sharp the onion is...if sharp...I put it on cracker...) so a salad would be cut up bell pepper and balsamic vinegar with olive oil lol

J <------ weird.
