Mrs. T-B. thinks that I'm up too late, zzz man.

Cat thinks that I'm ignoring her, which is right man.

Shall minister to cat.

Shall prep for bed.

Shall zzz, man.

No division on aptitude, it is actually against the Danish mentality. What happens is that compulsory education ends at 9th grade, so many of the students leave for technical training at that time. My husband did an additional year at a "boarding" school which basically wasn't academic, it is more just a fun time for teenagers to explore hobbies, themselves, and each other.

After that, they go to gymnasium and specialize in a few classes, like the British A-levels and I think German system? Only the very academic tend to do that though. The scores from that forever determine your future in terms of university admission, etc.

Test scores as a nation are high, but I am wondering when they test them (maybe after the lower 50-60% have already left school?) and if they account for the fact that the Danes are very homogeneous and economically advantaged. I highly doubt their highest test scores in any town could compete with areas with similar wealth in America.

It's the same in Japan - classes aren't divided by ability - very different from my school in the UK. I find it ridiculous, personally. Above average students should be taught differently from those below average.

I think it is important to have a foundation to understand life, at least through some 12th grade physics/calculus and economics, government, and history. I also think it is important for parents to be well educated enough to be able to understand and explain things to their children. They say that true comprehension, especially in math, is backwards, like by the time you take Calculus III you better understand Calculus I, but if you were to stop at Calc I it would be difficult to teach to someone else. Maybe Analysis would help you teach it better, but you get the point.

I have found my teaching in the Classics ( Latin and Greek) as well as maths and music to have been the most beneficial in my life.

I too would be both gasted and flabbered, si ma'am.

If you have false teeth, use PolyGrip; otherwise, Londoner's bridge would be falling down, hee hee ma'am.

Reported;)

Sick at work, sent home, got into bed, feeling sick, then was sick in the bed, and on myself, and then sick in the toilet several times, and had to burn my pyjamas, si(ck) man.

Take care!

What explanation? What curiosity? Inquiring minds want to know, see man.

1. Don't sue me for making you barf further upon yourself (I'm a mere Colonist), no man.

2. It sounds as though you barf thoroughly, which is to your credit, si man.

Because there are no pictures, obviously there can be no "what," oj tak.

Enough cursing! We're a family-friendly forum here, see ma'am.

Fotos or you aren't Commie-babes, oj nie!

Reported! Communists, not Commies, man;)

So I am off to the bank to really see if we are getting this ipad. I have a feeling that it is a mistake, but oh well.

Get an iPad mini. So much easier to fit in a handbag.

Hmm. You are too sympathetic with your husband. He is probably a nice guy, but drowning people will grab the nearest thing to them. Sorry, if this is harsh, but I speak from experience. Put your own needs first. From what I have read he is seeking a mother figure, and you appear very maternal. Be strong, or else you will regret it in years to come. ( sorry, not trying to preach),

no need to apologize. I know you are right :) does not mean I won't feel bad though...it is feelings that I cannot simply put aside...but I also know that nothing will change. I am happy we are talking to each other, that we are going to the movies....going to enjoy the little things while I can...much better than ignoring the fact that there is another person who I came here for to begin with...that is all :)

Yes, this is Polish.

But is that cursive? :P

Interesting the last three letters in the Polish alphabet are ZZZ. No wonder Poland gets invaded so much, they get caught sleeping every time.

Nola..get some sugar free gummy bears....5 pounds bags...will solve any problems. :content:

If I eat too much sugar or starches, especially white bread, I get the same reaction anyway!

I thought you're tryin ta lose weight anyway....so? Voila! :) accidental diet pill...

It is used off label as a diet pill, but it primarily works by stopping production of excess glucose and absorption of glucose. So instead of my body over absorbing, I'm finally having the same results as someone without IR who goes on a diet. I've lost 5 pounds in the last 2 weeks, which simply was impossible before no matter what my calorie count or exercise regime.

Trophie you want me to feed you guys a super good meal?

It isn't gummy bears, is it? I hate to say it, but my diet is so restricted right now, it is terrible.

I have found my teaching in the Classics ( Latin and Greek) as well as maths and music to have been the most beneficial in my life.

I took Latin and I did like it but I never got to a point with it that I could easily read the classics. I always wanted to take Biblical Greek, but I've only got so much time...

It's the same in Japan - classes aren't divided by ability - very different from my school in the UK. I find it ridiculous, personally. Above average students should be taught differently from those below average.

People keep telling me that all Danes follow this Jante Law thing in which you can not assume to be better than others or different or speak of it. However, except for schooling, I've never seen it happen in practice - the Danes I meet are always bragging or talking about money! They think it is the smart students' jobs to pull up the slow students. I think you just end up atrophying their minds and love for learning, but whatever.

Get an iPad mini. So much easier to fit in a handbag.

It was an ipad mini, but I already have a full size ipad and my daughter has a mini. My husband ended up taking this one, he broke his year old phone he was just in love with, even using at home, so at least he can use this instead of the Galaxy they are sending to replace his HTC one.
