I tried to link to it, to no avail. My name is Alexander so I have been known on occasion to play this song live... Although in honesty I actually really dislike being called Al...

I realise that's an open invitation for everyone on this thread to start calling me it.

Now chronicling my experience in handy blog format at

Ipad received. Wheee.

Also my daughter got her own, not my hand me down, American Girl Doll today. :)

When my sister got her first American Girl Doll, Kirsten, she locked herself in our mother's bedroom and ripped out all of her hair.

She had to go to the "doll hospital" and get a new head.

I love a guy who looks like he could be on Criminal Minds as either an agent or a killer.

Oh goodness. That is terrible!

My daughter has been playing with my old Molly for a while now, minus the furniture and some other things I thought she would just color on. She seems to have gotten the gentle enough aspect down. I still keep Felicity locked up in the attic. I wanted to get Kirsten for my daughter, but I saw they don't make her anymore. :( Plus, it seems modern kids, my daughter included, prefer to pick their own doll out with no backstory.

OMG Bring her to the store, the store!

My daughter could live there.

They also have the little kid twins too, which my daughter does have also. Those might be more age appropriate.

How old is said daughter? I had Felicity too! I loved her :luv: I even made her clothes and shoes and stuff.

I never got into the look alike dolls and the girls with no backstory. Weird to me. I did like the "modern" girl. She came out when I was living with my cousin who had a 9 year old. The movie that they made for her character was such a good influence for her.

Yes. She definitely is.

Get her one! They're amazing!

I think it is important to have a foundation to understand life, at least through some 12th grade physics/calculus and economics, government, and history. I also think it is important for parents to be well educated enough to be able to understand and explain things to their children. They say that true comprehension, especially in math, is backwards, like by the time you take Calculus III you better understand Calculus I, but if you were to stop at Calc I it would be difficult to teach to someone else. Maybe Analysis would help you teach it better, but you get the point.

The US certainly has a different type of curriculum than other parts of the world as well. It's not the same in Canada as it is in the USA. I'm sure Mexico varies as well. I have a good time discussing the differences with hubs and his co-workers between Canada and here. I'm glad the booger will be in Canada for all of her schooling to be honest. She will HAVE to learn sports and will learn all the types of math, and until grade 11 won't be choosing what kind of science to learn. They don't require you to specialize until grade 11 for university. (In Canada you can only obtain a 4 year degree from a University. It's rare to get that from a college, which generally give out 2 year diplomas and 1 year certificates.)

I used to want to get the boo an American girl doll. But I think she's a bit old for it now.

She's 5. Even this doll doesn't really look like her though. *shrugs*

How is that different that an American school? For the most part I never got to pick my science it was Earth Science in 8th, Bio in 9th, AP Chem in 10th, and AP Physics and Anatomy and Physiology in 12th. In 11th, I tripled up my languages, so no science.

We used to have a weird math system in New York, but it culminated in Pre-Calc in 11th and Calc in 12th, etc.
