Hey, don't insult Lars Urlich and Matt Sorum! :D

Drummers are a dime a dozen, just look at Ringo.

See! Asia knows how to deal with people like that. I take back everything I ever said about Polish people. OK well maybe not that drastic, but you get what I mean

I get what you mean

I know that me being angry at Jada's new family doesn't help Jada at all, but I can't help it and not being angry at those morons...

Sorry Jada! :)

Wow very well put. We better be careful or we'll start offering good advice here

He probably does, and maybe just might, but IMHO, you don't need to stick around for it. He won't ever become one without losing something he may have held dear to him. We must lose something to discover if we really needed or wanted that in our life.

Jada:

If he ever decides he wants to be a man, and does so, and you decide you want to take another shot at it, you can. But IMHO, unless one or the other person has had a brain transplant, getting back together doesn't generally work. But changing most of who you are, could qualify as a brain transplant... I guess. But then maybe you wouldn't like him any more either? Who knows.

I asked a guy at work the other day "why are you with her? Is the one you want to marry? Is that what you want from a relationship?" He said "well I'm mostly happy, and I don't know, and yes." So I told him then leave. He looked a little flabbergasted but I was like look, you're young (22ish?), and you want someone you want to spend the rest of your life with. It doesn't matter if she thinks your that person if you are not sure that she is that person for you. Stop wasting everyone's time to be a little happy and not be alone. I've had loads of fun being alone. If marriage is your ultimate goal, trust me, you'll know it when you find it, most men seem to. It's not a maybe thing, it's an OMG I cannot live without this person. I mean you could, obviously, but you don't want to. He thanked me for the advice and understood what it meant.

I spent 9.5 years with someone I thought I wanted to be with, because a) we had a child together and b) I didn't want to be lonely and c) I wanted to make it work. While relationships take work, you can't force them to work. My ex and I make much better friends, and we're somewhat forced to be friends because we have to get along for our child. In the end, we should have been friends from the start, but then I wouldn't have my booger, and I wouldn't trade her for the world. However, it's nice because I no longer have to force a romantic relationship or make myself love someone that I just don't. I am an emotional person and argue with my husband, because that's what I do. I over-react, I'm overly sensitive, and I have a hard time controlling it. But he knew that going in. And I know that I am in love with him. There is no shadow of a doubt in my mind he is my soul mate.

Ooooh, I totally forgot about Ringo :)

Actually, from the musicians I know, a good drummer is hard to find. There's plenty of bad drummers out there though.

I am really torn about whether to keep my daughter back in Kindergarten. She's socially ready for 1st grade - she's a social butterfly, listens, seems to have great understanding of others, but academically... I just never expected her to be so far behind. She is the complete opposite of me and I don't know if she just seems more behind because of the town we live in, being the youngest in the class, or just being a late bloomer academically.

For the record, her father was held back in kindergarten and I skipped first grade and honestly, I don't think things worked out that differently for either of us, else then me needing to get over that "I'm special and the rules don't apply to me problem" which might have been more a factor of teachers all throughout school letting me test of subjects and go hangout in the library or only having to go to school one day a week.

I know they prefer social progression in our current town, but I went to an event at school today and some of the other girls were just flying through books and she really still struggles with the very very basic readers. I don't want her to feel stupid, but I also don't want her to feel out of place. She's the youngest, but she's already one of the tallest, and she'd really tower over her classmates if I held her back.

Hard choices.

the bad mother would have given something like childrens tylenol to put her back under.

As I told Mrs. T-B. about child-care philosophy, after witnessing her little nieces/nephews in action: medicate medicate medicate!

Haha no not drugging her I don't want to make her bounce off the walls. I've given her Tylenol when she was teething and never again, that stuff made her hyper, 3 am was when she finally settled long enough to fall asleep. 6 hours after the only dose.

Interesting, gee man. These meds are about the only thing that are guaranteed to make Mini-B. sleepy, zzz wee man.

What do her teachers suggest ?

We asked them about it a few months ago and their answer was as long as she is progressing forward and socially ready that they don't like to hold kids back.

My kids went out like a light. Maybe they reformulated it since then.

See, man?

run outta Polish jokes? no way.

See, man? Many remain, to wit, see man:

A Polish Texas Aggie stooped to pick something off the floor of a crowded bank lobby. He looked around and loudly announced, "Did anyone here lose a large wad of bills with a rubber band around it?"

"I did! I did!" said several people.

"Well, I just now found the rubber band," said the Polish Texas Aggie.

My hips hurt.

We always knew that you were a hip individual, see ma'am.

We're all going to start thinking you're all as cheap as Texans in Poland.

This is a high compliment indeed, oj tak!

Yeah, hard choices.

I think I'd leave her in Kindergarten for another year. When is the deadline for you to make this decision?

I have two nephews.

One will be 6 this August, and the younger one will be 5 this October.

We've been having a reform over here and children will have to go to school while being 6 years old. Previously it was 7 years old.

My older nephew is the last age-group where parents can decide if they want their kid to start school as 6-year old or 7-year old.

My sister decided to send him as a 6-year old, since she don't want her two boys be in the same class, and the younger one will have to start school as the 6-year old.

I think 6 year olds are too young to start school

Have you met with the psychologist as well?

Is it practised over there?

My sister needed a psychologist evaluation as a background that the kid is ready to start school.
