AOS filed but got 3 receipts?

Ok so I mailed out our AOS package on May 8 and last night I got 3 emails and text messages saying:

That your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS National Benefits Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official receipt Notice (Form_797) with your receipt number MSCxxxxxx9362. blah, blah, blah

or also got a receipt MSCxxxxxx9360 and MSCxxxxxx9361.

Now I know this number will not pull up on the USCIS site (yes I checked cause I didnt read the entire letter, cause I got excited) at this moment and I believe it will change and I believe this was a made up generated receipt saying "Hey we cashed your check" and that a case number will be generated. My question is why 3 receipts?

Is this normal? Does each represent the documents I filed, the EAD, the Travel doc and the Adjustment. Just seeking some advice or even a guess. Thanks

Yes, you got it right. The 3 consecutive receipt numbers correspond to AOS, AP and EAD. If you check them up in uscis.gov, you will see what a corresponding receipt number is for (on the blue header).

This immigration process is such a energy sucker but I know that what I have now in my life was a good step towards my future. I will take the baby steps with all my VJers and know that we all are here for the same cause.

13th May 2014: AOS (I-485) & EAD/AP combo card
21st May 2014: NOA 1 and biometric letter
11th June 2014: biometric appointment
13th June 2014: RFE received via mail
16th June 2014: replied to RFE
6th August 2014: EAD Approved, AP still in initial review
12th August 2014: got tracking number for EAD
( ) August 2014: Received EAD (I forgot what date I got them but I did receive them less than 5 days from the 12th)
10th September 2014: Interview Waiver received (I wished I was interviewed)
April 23, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice

It looks like Janice&Micah filed everything on 3-11-14 but only got 2 receipts - I think I would call and make sure that all the forms mailed were accounted for

That's awesome. I only saw AOS and EAD based from your signature. You should get 3 hard copies of the NOA within 3-4 days. :)
