K1 Visa put on Ready status thrice

Needing Candy there to assist in taking care of you is actually a negative in the visa process and the embassy would look at your relationship as false based upon your "needs" so I would not broadcast that one too much. Your health issues, as sad as it is, are not a plus.

I know. That is why I told Candy to not volunteer that knowledge at the interview and I coached her how to not lie but instead put on a positive spin if they asked "How is his health". They did not ask, so it is moot.

You can put any label you want on my emotional state, but I know what I feel, and what I feel is genuine anger.

I feel your pain, and I hope that Candy is able to travel to you soon.

I was also extremely angry after my H-1b refusal. I lost a legitimate, high-paying job, and was threatened with losing my guy forever. It is infuriating that some guy behind a desk who won't even tell you his name saw you for 3 minutes and decided he was going to rip your life to pieces. I was devastated.

But, such is the reality of US immigration. I understand they have their rules, their guidelines they need to follow, and there is fraud everywhere that they are trying to avoid, but it doesn't make these circumstances less personal and painful.

I understand that we all need to just be heard, and just be allowed to be angry. Get all your feelings out, they certainly help with the frustration. My bf always said to cheer me up while I was sobbing my eyes out: "Hang in there, soon you will be here and we will have a good laugh about all this."

And now we indeed are. It's all been a bad dream, and it's over. You will get to that point soon. Be angry, but let it go and just keep faith.

"It all works out in the end; if it doesn't, then it's not the end."

"This, too, shall pass."

... genuine anger? Serious?

Your illness is not part of the equation, so that is moot. You are at home, Candy is at home... you both have homes... jeez!

Now step back and take a look at why the embassy is so backed up.

Hank, I never challenged helping Tacloban. I never even brought it up. I know they have a priority. And I never even mentioned it.

But at the same time they knew this was coming, so a little planning in terms of employees to handle the crunch would not have been a bad idea.

US insurance companies prepared for Hurricane Sandy here and so did the electric utilities and brought the people in to handle the crunch even before the storm hit. This is not exactly a novel idea. Business knows how to be proactive. What is government's excuse?

BTW I just came from the doctor's office and explained what was going on in the embassy. He said I could wait for the visa to have the surgery. No need to rush. That was mainly what I was worried about. I know Candy is not going to run away from me because she has to wait 2 to 3 more weeks to come here, and I never considered that. But I was very worried about having to deal with my post surgery period by myself and getting the call to drive to the airport in the middle of it. Now that will not happen.

I believe Al422 and others with similar cases just need some empathy and a place to rant. I'm all for helping out Yolanda victims, but honestly is there anyone who will be happy to put their lives on hold indefinitely for the next year or 10 for this same reason over and over? I'm human and I can honestly say I want my life to move forward despite what is happening in the world. We are all sad about famine in Africa, but if we were told we will not be able to eat until they eat, is there anyone who will volunteer?

I agree with embassy's action to not open interview dates yet so they can catch up. This eternal waiting after the interview is so much worse. If you haven't interviewed yet, at least you don't feel like your visa is getting denied. They are just killing everybody and themselves by letting this backlog grow and grow. They should open a separate task force for Yolanda if they want to accommodate everyone, instead of what they are doing now. They outright lied to me, they knew there was processing to be done with almost no people to do it and yet they said I will get the visa in 10 days...

You nailed it really well. My complaints and everyone else's complaints about the eternal wait here is by no means a callous indifference to the people of Tacloban. The only people who have displayed that callous indifference are the managerial people at the embassy. THEY are the ones who decided to have only TWO PEOPLE get the final work product out the door, knowing about the Yolanda crunch.

I don't see the Yolanda victims thanking the embassy for any priority. I see them cursing the embassy for their failure to assign enough people to get the work out the door so the people can have their visas. Candy and I and all the other couples whose lives were put on hold have only been inconvenienced by this. But the Yolanda victims have been hurt by it, and seriously so.,

And the sad part is that nobody has to be either hurt or inconvenienced. All we need are enough people getting the work product out the door to keep pace with demand.

... or learn a little patience, after all AI422/Candy only had their interview 10 days ago, which when you take into consideration weekends and holidays is only 7 business days... for sure not cause for the need for empathy or ranting.

SEVEN DAYS and there should be need to rant about not having one's visa? Sorry no empathy here either. Even if it were two weeks still nothing to get one's panties in a bunch.

That is your opinion, you are entitled to it, and I will never disrespect it. Can you respect mine?

7 days doesn't warrant ranting and stomping your feet.

... I had a nephew that acted like that.. tossed his azz in a snowbank, he never pulled that again when at my house.
