I130 bring mother to the States

I`m thinking about petitioning my mother to the US. I read all the instructions on uscis website but there`re still a lot of confusions.

I really appreciate it if anyone could help me clear them up a lil bit : ) Thanks : )

So I need to file i130 first with copies of certificate of naturalization and birth certificate.

After it`s approved, when should I summit affidavit of support?

On the form it asks for 3 year`s income.

My most recent year`s income qualifies because it is above the poverty line. But another 2 years before that are really low and thus do not qualify.

I wonder if that would be a problem?

And if it`s not ok, or not likely to get approved, how do I have a joint sponsor? Can it be anyone, like a friend?

The friend needs to summit a same form (affidavit of support) too? together with mine? nothing else?

Are there any other forms on my end I need to complete and file except i130 and affidavit of support?

Gather the documents required for I-130 then worry about AOS after it gets approved from USCIS. One step at a time, my friend.

Also, as long as your current income meet the poverty line. You are good.

Yes, a friend can support as long as they're willing and meet the poverty guideline.

I know I should just wait for whatever comes and do it.

But I`m actually going out of country for 3 months.

That's why I`m worried what`s going to come to the mail or the next steps.

Can I do everything that's to come online?

And documents I need to collect before I leave so my friend can file for me while I`m not home?
