I just spoke with a person that recently had her interview in Juarez. I asked about the police certificate and she states that although they are on the instructions, they are no required because it states on the travel.state.gov site that they are unavailable for Mexico. I have also emailed the consulate and will post their answer just to be 100% sure about this so that it may help future applicants! :wow:

Thank you for taking the time to ask them. I appreciate it. I wish they would have just left their instructions alone or worded them better. Then, no one would having to be wondering and worrying about it before their interviews. It was much easier when the instructions did not state they were needed and I could advise people with confidence that they were not required for Juarez. I hope to get back to doing that soon, thanks to your help. :)

So the consulate replied to the inquiry I made to them regarding the Police Certificates and this was their respons: "Dear Mr. Arroyo:

Thank you for your June 3, 2014 inquiry regarding your K1 visa case.

Please refer to the fiancé packet of instructions for information on required documents that you must bring to your interview. You can download the packet at the following link: http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/fianceforms.html. If the consular officer determines that other documents are required, you will be advised accordingly at the time of your interview.

For a more rapid reply, direct all inquiries through our online form at http://ciudadjuarez.usconsulate.gov/public_inquiry_form.html. Inquiries sent by mail or fax will face significant delays in processing.

Sincerely,

Consular Information Unit

U.S. Consulate General Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

Not much help which is why I think every one is confused about the certificates

Wow...they won't even answer that simple question anymore. It is as if they want everyone to be confused. Silliness.

My advice still stands on this then. If you can get one, then do. If anyone is unable to get any type of document that states they have no criminal records, then I would go without it and bring a printout of the travel.state.gov website that says they are unavailable in Mexico, just in case they try and ask for them.

Thank you so much for asking and posting the response!
