Sorry if I'm a little slow but I want to be extra sure!!!

I became a PR in 07/2012 but since it was by marriage I had the 2 year GC. I am now waiting on my ROC application to go through. When am I actually eligible to apply for my citizenship? 3 years from the initial PR date or 3 years from this new one I get after my ROC?

Thank for the clarification!!!

There are actually a lot of things you must be compliant with. First, married to a USC for at least 3 years and the USC has been a USC for at least the last three years AND a LPR for at least the last three years (see date on 2 year GC that has resident since date and that is the date you go by), have remaining in the US for at least 18 months and been a resident in the USCIS jurisdiction for at least three months. Take at look at this website of the USCIS to determine your eligibly to file for naturalization.

Good luck,

Dave

Thanks! I comply to all the above. Married to the same person, lived and worked here and only left for 4 weeks total for vacations.

hi!, i looked for citizenship and it brought me here, i heard about the 3 year rule and thats what brought me here

My situation is similar (only a bit) to the OP,..

-i've been living in the US, and with my now wife for roughly 10ys

-got married august/2011 (3ys this august)

- HOWEVER, just got a GC (thru AOS)

So when its time for naturalization?

will it be on my 3rd wedding anniversary? or on the 3rd anniversary of the green card (LPR)?

Please dont go for the 'go and read' comments. Thank you for taking the time to read my post

90 days before the third anniversary of the date on your green card.

It should say "resident since" next to the date.
