i-131 and i-765 to initial review - how do you know?

Hi all,

I've noticed in a few timelines that users post "i-131 and i-765 moved to Initial Review" prior to the NOA1 emails or texts being received. How is it possible to find that? Is it just folks back-dating their timelines from when they get the receipt numbers? Or is there some other way to look this up or some other form I need to send?

My plan was to send one G-1145 for the entire packet (i-130, i-485, i-131 and i-765) because I understood from searching around that we would just get one generic notification. Is that not correct? Should I submit G-1145s for all?

06-07-14: (Day 16) - Biometrics appointment received in the mail

06-20-14: (Day 29) - Biometrics complete as scheduled

06-26-14: (Day 35) - Received text that I-485 was moved to "Testing and Interview" stage

08-12-14: (Day 82) - EAD/AP card in production

08-20-14: (Day 90) - EAD/AP card arrived

08-27-14: (Day 97) - Received email for interview October 3rd

08-29-14: (Day 99) - NOA2 for interview received in the mail

10-03-14: (Day 134) - Interview at Federal Plaza - APPROVED! Card in Production email 20 minutes later!

10-09-14: (Day 140) - Received email that card was mailed

10-10-14: (Day 141) - Green card, Welcome to the US notice, and approval of I-130 received in the mail

ROC

08-02-16: Mailed ROC package to VSC

08-09-16: Check cashed

08-12-16: Received NOA dated 8-5

08-26-16: Received biometrics appointment for 9/8/16

07-13-17: New card is being produced!

Welcome to the forum.

The majority of folks do just fine with sending in one (1) Form G-1145. If you review some forum threads, you might notice that the notification system can be a bit of "hit or miss" situation. Some folks get a text notification, some do not. Have you set up a "My Case Status" account with USCIS? It sounds like that is likely where folks are getting "initial review" information. Wait for your NOA1s, they will have your case numbers on them, and official notification that they have your petition/application in the latest pile of papers in the warehouse.

We got it through USCIS case status check, email and text and mail. I guess they didn't trust us that we would be checking mail, or looking for a text message, or check online, or even wake up to check our mail box so they decided to do all...it worked...and much to their chagrin all of them...:)
