His is at 8:30 am. According to the London US Embassy website the embassy doesn't open until 8:30 am.

Incorrect. Read some reviews and see what time people went in for interviews.

They need to update their website then. Because I'm seeing 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

That may be for ordinary embassy business and US citizen services like

Government relations between the two countries.

There is a separate entrance and small end of the whole embassy building that is consular services (visas).
