Do we need to show the original proofs (like the receipts, remittances etc) to the CO or just the photocopies of those will be enough to be place in a clear folder?. Thanks!

I was on a K-1 Visa on 2014.

  • Sent Packet: July 03,2017
  • NOA 1 Receipt Date: July 05,2017
  • NOA 2 Receipt Date: July 14,2017
  • Biometrics: August 02, 2017
  • Case Received at My Local Office - No Mail Notice- Just Online Status: February 26,2018
  • I-551 Stamp: August 13, 2018
  • 18 Months Extension Letter Receipt Date: August 18,2018
  • 18 Months Extension Letter Received: August 25, 2018
  • New Card is being Produced: October 15, 2018
  • Case was Approved: October 16,2018
  • Card was Mailed to me: October 17,2018
  • Card was picked up by the USPS: October 18,2018
  • Card Received/on Hand: October 19,2018

Copies of non-government documents are fine. For government documents have copies and original with you. Follow the USEM instructions at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_10%20October%202013_.pdf and you will be fine.

Any document you give to the embassy they will keep, so if there is something you don't want to lose give them a copy.

Only documents that have to be originals are so stated in the embassy instructions letter, otherwise a copy is just fine.

The odds of them asking to keep them is between slim and none, I seriously doubt they will ask to see the receipts even.

After your interview and reflection you will see for yourself that "we all over plan and produce more documents" that aren't necessary. Relax, be honest, look the CO in the eye and be confident of your answers. Remember, what they are looking for is that you have a bonified relationship and your plans are to be married once in country.

Hank,i was wondering if that cfo is also needed in k2 visa?

i mean for my daughter,or just the k1 visa applicant?

(K-1 & 2 are processed as immigrant visas)

For (all) Filipinos leaving the country with immigrant VISA
