Will there be any problems if we got pregnant on my visit. When I file the Fiancé Visa.

Anthony

Happy Camper, lol

Hi! I'm not sure about the legalities with this one but my only concern would be the cost of having the baby in the USA if your wife comes over late in the pregnancy and doesn't have insurance?

We were going through IVF and stopped because of this reason. Our situation is a bit different as my partner is here in Australia with me though so we have no insurance at all when we get there... Might be different if she can go under your insurance straight away?

Dont know if that's something you need to consider! Either way, best of luck! Its an incredibly exciting time for you both!!

No legal issues... If born before visa is issued, the you will need to obtain a CRBA for the infant to travel... No expedites for pregnancy ...

No issues;

there may be certain vaccinations she cannot have, and will need to do before AOS, after the baby is born.

If baby is born abroad, you will need to get it a US passport (no visa needed) before travel.

I am very worried about the cost here as opposed to there. If the baby is born there I fear that he/she will have to get a visa too and then apply to be a US citizen. Will he/she have to get a green card? I thought only people born in the US are US citizens. I am more afraid Donald trump will think his birth certificate is fake. lol he/she wont be able to run for President. lol

Hahaha. I cant help with that (as I said in the last post) but when we research the cost with out medical insurance it was around the $20000 mark to give birth. Hefty! We are going through an immi attorney and he recommended to have the baby in the USA though due to the visa issues. We are a same sex couple though so its a bit more complicated!

Well if you are concerned about your child running for president you really need to find a way for it to be born here. Only a person born on US soil can be president.

Other than that a CRBA is the way to go. A lot of doctors don't want to take a late pregnancy so it may be better for the child to be born there.

No, pregnancies by the petitioner and beneficiary have no affect on the K-1 process.

Your child will be born a U.S. citizen although born in the Philippines. This was the case for my son.

My K-1 fiancé was preggo there. We got her here in time for US marriage and on my insurance. Consulate was supportive but overseas medical tried to say she couldn't fly. Modern flight allows late term pregnancy flying just not if in labor.

The rest of my K-1 saga is so crazy it should be a friggin' movie but the baby is an angel :)

If born outside USA but parent is citizen, the baby is born a us citizen... You file for a CRBA and the baby will get a us passport and come to the USA as a citizen.

This might or might not answer your question, but a pregnancy might be a good thing. For example, in my case, I am the petitioner and my fiance the beneficiary... Well, we started our case March 15, 2014 on my late visit to the US (we currently live together in Mexico) and upon my return, we got pregnant. According to our family members and acquaintances who have gone through a visa or residency process, being pregnant helps because it applies as proof. Currently, I am in the process of returning to the US and just wait for him there while I get my doctor check-ups.

Of course, deciding whether to have your baby in the US or abroad is up to you. As other members have stated, you do have to worry about the costs, having a baby in the US may be pretty expensive if not covered by insurance. Also, having a baby born abroad is not a problem as many people may think. Here is a link with information for obtaining a CRBA. And yes, a citizen-born-abroad can run for president if they wanted to. Here's a link to that question: Is a person born abroad to a US citizen eligible to be president? (I know this is wiki, but it's the only site that gives a clear, short answer) If you want to read the full constitution, here's a link to that too: constitution.org - president eligibility.

Aaaaaaand good luck woth your process! We are so happy that we can almost see the end of ours. Let's hope for the best and spread the support!

Please don't take this the wrong way. But if your fiancee is not pregnant now, why complicate matters by being careless?

Thank you, goodnight and may your gods go with you",
