hello all,

what is the average wait time in the US from marriage(filing aos) to getting green card?

I presume once you get your green card, you can travel in and out of the US?

I tried finding timelines of the average time but I cant lock it down.

thanks all

Most people apply for AP and an EAD at the same time as AOS. The average time for receiving this is 2-3 mths and is valid for 1 year and allows you to work and travel while waiting for the GC. The latter can take between 6-12 mths, depending on whether you get an intervew or not.

From our personal experience we got married last October on our K1 and filed for my hubbies GC in November. He was approved without an interview in April this year. Everyone has different experiences.. This one was ours. Hope it helps :)
