Clarifications needed (split topic)

I've read several of your posts and noticed that you have good insight into the mystery of the K1 visa process for China. I am however a little confused about the timing of what should be done next, and could use your help with clarifying the following:

1. Our K1 was shipped to the NVC on Thursday, May 8. I began calling them on Friday, May 9 and was able to get the new case number on Tuesday, May 13. Since then I watched the status change on the ceac site from "In Transit" to "Ready" . She has completed the DS-160 online for both herself and her daughter.

2. What significance, if any does the appearance of "Ready" have on the NVC website?

3, In your posts you appear to suggest to call the NVC repeatedly at this point to learn when the P3 has been mailed to the beneficiary? Is that correct?

4. Does the NVC use the terms "P3" and "P3" mailed regarding the status of K1 petitions sent to GZ?

5. Should we sign up on the ustraveldocs website now, before she receives her P3 in the mail, or at the moment the NVC indicates that P3 has been mailed?

My questions are mostly about the timing of what to do and when. I appreciate your help in advance as there is a lot of conflicting information about this important part of the process.

for signing up at ustraveldocs.com/cn

and chasing the rest of the visa application process:

I suggest you monitor CEAC , at least once each 2 days,

and when the status changes to 'Administrative Processing'

that's the visual indicator for you that the casefile made it out of the bonded China Customs Warehouse, GUZ IV was allowed to retrieve it, then they logged the casefile, opened the casefile, and have started the next phase of name checks.

See that? Pull the trigger and pay the fee at CITIC bank.

Go Get Em, and Good Luck !

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Thanks Darnell,

Hard to find up-to-date information of the short and sweet kind.

I've been checking the CEAC status and so far have seen the following three status screens:

1. NVC

2. In Transit

3. Ready

So, it seems you're saying to watch the status to change yet again to: "Administrative Processing?" Then, when that happens logon UStraveldocs and pay the fee.

Correct?

sorry, after rereading this I see that the order of stuff might be confusing .

you know CEAC website, right?

keep monitoring it until the status changes to 'administrative processing'.

once it changes - set up an account at ustraveldocs.com/cn

and pay the visa fee(s ) at CITIC bank, keeping your receipt(s ) .

Then put in the receipt #s into your account(s ) at ustraveldocs.com/cn

then you can self-schedule.

Right. I assumed you meant watch the CEAC site status to change to Administrative Processing. Our status is currently at Ready and already have account on ustraveldocs. Have not paid any fees there, but did complete beneficiary info. Did not see a link or location to add k2 info however. Waiting for status to change as you suggested. It would be great if US provided clear instructions on what appears on ustraveldocs and how to complete it with screenshot examples

A good portion of what causes confusion are the generic messages that instruct you to do things that may be incorrect. For example, this message from the CEAC site is instructing the reader to schedule the interview.
