Weird Question--but i dont know what it means

Timeline

As you can see on my timeline..i was approved on 12/21/06, i have been waiting for a letter from the NVC since then. But today i checked my case status online on the USCIS page and it says i have been touched today 1/12/07...what does this mean???? they still have my file at USCIS???? maybe they mailed it out to the NVC today???

any comments would be helpfull

It means they moved your approved petition into the file to go to the NVC or that they sent it to the NVC today. A touch after approval is normal when they are preparing for the NVC.

It means they moved your approved petition into the file to go to the NVC or that they sent it to the NVC today. A touch after approval is normal when they are preparing for the NVC.

But not everyone gets a touch between approval and NVC letter. And that's ok too, right? It must be, as Aaron and I got the letter from NVC saying file is on its way to Syd consulate, but no record of any touches since NOA2! Congratulations on your approval. All the "veterans" on VJ say that from here on it should be much smoother and faster. Let's hope so!

AOS process (after K-1):

24 July '07 - AOS application received by Chicago Office

09 August '07 - Biometrics appt letter

24 August '07 - RFE for I-485 (incomplete tax info sent!)

28 August '07 - NOA letters for AOS, EAD and AP

29 August '07 - Biometrics

AP - 12 October '07 - hard copy: multiple travel, valid 12 months

EAD - 18 October '07 - hard copy: valid from the date of 1st notice of card production

SSN - 30 October '07 (married name), applied Oct 18, same day I got my EAD

DL - 11 December '07 - driving test at DMV San Francisco. Yay! Now I can drive on the "wrong" side of the road!

21 November '07 - AOS Interview (Letter rec'd Oct 15) ----- A P P R O V E D ----- A P P R O V E D ----- A P P R O V E D -----

07 December '07 - GREENCARD IN MAIL

Peace and quiet... apply for removal of conditions - August 2009!
