Any downside to applying for I-131 Advance Parole?

So I will be filing the I130, I-485, I-765 shortly and was wondering whether there is any downside to applying for an advance parole AP (I-131), permit as well given that I've overstayed my legal entry by 7 months?

This question is separate to the consideration of actually using the AP. My reasoning being, that it's free to apply for the AP (just in case). So any reason not to apply? Will applying trigger any weird things or slow down my GC?

Our attorney told us that my wife was ineligible for AP, because she was out of status at the time we filed AOS. She also said that she would be subject to a 10 year ban if she left the US. I suppose there is no harm in applying since it is free, but you should probably double check if you're eligible for I-131. She overstayed a lot longer than you, so it may not be an issue for you.
