The in your face racial slurs or outright apparent racism like this guy uttered generally speaking is abhorred. That's easy to spot and identify. It is the institutionalized racism, the hidden forms that some people like to ignore or deny exists. There's been plenty of threads that had this type of in your face racism in it. They go nuclear because of the people who inhibit them. Folks that try to justify even the most vile and racist things. That's just them.

That $400,000 could get you a decent place, in Riverside or San Bernardino counties, but with a mind numbing commute if you need to work in L.A.

Depends on what you consider "decent." We're looking for a small condo or tiny house, because we're only two people (and a cat) and we don't need or want extra space. Our ideal place would be no more than 1000 sq ft, preferably around 800-900 sq ft. Outdoor space, like a patio, would be cool but not necessary. We got into the final bidding round on a tiny house in Eagle Rock last month that went in the end for about $250,000.

Some places are bubbles and overpriced, but I always find it weird when people say "you can come live in X weirdo place and get a great house." Yeah, you can, because no one wants to live there
