Requirements are meeting in person in the past 2 years, being able to financially support this person and have a bonafide relationship.

Meeting once is fine, as long as you have proof you met and that you have a relationship as well as being able to financially support her, then I don't see what the problem is?

I am sure there are people who have been approved on meeting once for much less than 9 days. Good luck!

About the flights. I look at arifares online all the time trying to learn when they go and when they go down. There is a lot of difference whether it is near a holiday or the kids are out of school. Also booking in advance lowers the fee.

Can someone please inform me if they suppose it would be an issue that we have only met in person one time? I flew to Ghana in February but was only able to stay for 9 days. We are in love but my demanding job and the fact that I am a single father makes it very difficult to get there again. Financially it is nearly impossible, and I have nobody to care for my daughter and make sure she makes it to school. I had my mother fly down from NY to care for my daughter for the 9 day visit in February. I'm just concerned that one visit for nine days may not be enough for the CO in Accra to justify our petition. We have chat logs and communicate everyday. We have several photos, receipts for dinner when I proposed, hotel receipts, and she has an engagement ring. Should I try and take out a loan to get there again before the interview? I'm torn because I love this woman and want to spend my life with her, but I don't want to start off in debt when she will not be able to work for about six months after she arrives. Can anyone share with me their thoughts?

Op...remember one thing. No one hear can really tell you yes meeting once is good enough to satisfy the adjudicator that will handle your particular case. Just like no one can really say that meeting more than once will satisfy. I have seen couples here meet once and not be approved, just like I have seen couples meet more than once and not be approved. Although you have a lot of comments on VJ that are excellent! I have seen some that were way wrong...The only thing that I can had that may be of consolation is..."eat the watermelon and spit the seeds." Read and study the guide--->http://www.visajourney.com/content/k1guide. Stick to the hard facts. Many people add a whole lot of extras which lands them with RFE's and AP and they don't know why. Build you a solid case and pray most of all this is the key. If its God's will..he will open every door that man has shut. I know this for a fact, I have seen it in my own life. Yes Ghana may be a high fraud country, but I believe most African countries are, and maybe even Asian countries as well. This is solely my opinion, if your relationship is solid and you have all your proof {documentation}, submit it and see! I hesitate to say that because of the awful system but that is the only solid answer. If you can afford to make another trip do so. I to have only seen my husband once, but I had an extended trip. So research, gather evidence, and pray! God will lead you. And to those that may comment on me including God I will say this now...yes God is a very important part of my life and I do nothing without consulting him first. Even when I give my opinions. Finally, Op the choice is yours. May God Be With Ye!

The warmth of true friendship and the love that binds the hearts of husband and wife are a foretaste of heaven. God has ordained that there should be perfect love and perfect harmony between those who enter into the marriage relation. Let bride and bridegroom in the presence of the heavenly universe pledge themselves to love one another as God has ordained they should. {LYL}

Thought to share our journey for those who need the encouragement!

hello, i will advise you to take a second visit to see her. yes, she can be approved for only one visit by luck but you make to make your case strong. are you thinking about money and cost now? when she gets denied, you will still spend more money and more time to get her there..

It might raise some red flags so I would suggest including as much evidence as you can that the relationship is bonafide. I would include chat logs, Skype records, any letters or proof of packages you have sent each other, etc. Hopefully it won't be a problem, but I am sure they will scrutinize since 9 days is not a long time. I think it would be beneficial not only for your case, but for yourself and your relationship to visit again, but I understand the financial side of it. What about her coming to visit you? You mentioned having a daughter. I think it would be good to see them interact in person before you bring her here to marry. But if visiting really isn't possible, you should try to prove that it would be a financial hardship (include bank statements and a letter explaining why you cannot travel again), it might help. Good luck to you.

Thank you for the advise. That's a good point to speak of the financial hardship. They never would grant a tourist visa to the US from a young woman in Ghana. It's almost unheard of. Plus we have already filed and I believe they cannot grant a tourist visa while waiting for K1. Thanks again

Ohh gotcha. It's too bad Ghana isn't included in the Visa Waiver Program! Prepare for some raised eyebrows, but it should go smoothly if you provide the correct evidence. Good luck again.

Haha I meant just for their sake! There's obviously a good reason they're not on the list ;)
