 I had the option of going to a fertility website/forum I suppose and go in all incognito and prob save myself some embarrasment  , but then I figured, ppl on those forums might have not experienced the same stress as us peeps on here... with all the immigration bull$hit, etc

Anyhow, here comes the personal info, so for those who cant deal, this is a good time to stop reading LOL

Well, since I moved to the US I have been experiencing some hiccups with my cycle. I never had any troubles before and always been a regular 31 day cycle kinda girl. Since moving here however the whole things gone haywire!

I am now spotting mid cycle, my cycles have gone shorter (28 days one month, 25 this month) and am also having real bad cramps, extreme pains, tiredness, and longer heavier bleeding.....

Anyone else experienced this prob too after this process and moving etc?

I mean I can only link it to the stress of moving, immigration, the wedding, now moving house...

Oh well, this really aint worse than asking how long you waited to you know what, is it?

Completely normal I'd say  It can go either way when you have major upheaval like we experience. You can either have them stop altogether for a time or they do what you are experiencing right now. They should settle down....give it some time.

I agree.....mine stopped altogether last year when we thought my bloke was going to have to return to the States without me....it was extremely stressful time....but they settled back again, which is just as well cos I thought I was going thro an early 'change' :(

But if it continues to worry you, you should go get it checked out.....although I don't know how you stand right now with your medical provision.

I'm fully covered, Doug took care of that stuff the week we got married.

Trouble is, I hate asking to go to Docs etc. I suppose having been used to this system and how much you pay etc he tends to pop a pill if he feels real bad or just sleep it off, and avoids going to the Docs so he is sorta expecting me to get used to the same. Easily said, but not done, since I'm used to paying a bit and getting tons back, or after the UK paying nothing at all.....

Anyhow, when I lived in the UK during my previous marriage we never got pregnant, and we both got checked out, and when all was working fine the doc ended up saying the reason I couldnt fall pregnant was cos I am fat (yep, his words!). So now being in a second marriage, I still long for more children real bad, and I guess my cycle being totally fukced up lately just worries me that lill bit extra, you know what I'm saying?

I still have hopes and I suppose like you mention, it makes me panic that my body might be doing stuff early, though I only just hit my 27th bday, then again, its not unheard off.... oh well, hopely after April, when we move and get settled and hopefully my EAD comes, things might settle down a bit!

Mine have been all over the place too. Used to be perfect 28 day cycles, now anything between 25 and 36 days and range from full crampy, sore boobs, headache and heavy bleeding, to no symptoms at all and minor flow. I've even wondered at times if some months I'm not ovulating at all (the no symptoms months). We're trying to conceive as well with no luck for a year now, which is adding alot more stress on top of the immigration process which is proving extremly complicated in our case.

I've been told not to worry too much about the periods or conceiving until everything else is going better and we're less stressed. So you're not the only one going through weird "women's stuff" :)

Best wishes

Kate

Glad you posted this! I was wondering if it was just me having menstrual issues :(

I NEVER had cramps before I came here, and now I have bad ones. I end up spending a day on the couch just exhausted. NEVER had that before either. Of course I'm getting older and haven't been able to get much exercise here, but still.

My guesses to the causes are #1 the stress, and then changes in the water, differences in chemicals in food and water, and even a difference in the feminine products that you use, since they emit all sorts of nasty toxins and stuff. (I believe they had to use bleach to get the fibres so white.)

I'll echo all the gals here who've assured you that such a major upheaval is enough to disrupt your feminine cycles.

I once didn't menstruate for nine whole months (and no, I wasn't pregnant!); my doctor never did figure out why. When I went to get everything checked out, darned if I didn't start again three days later!

Latest news: Green card received 16 April 2007. USCIS-free until 3 January 2009! Eligible to naturalize 3 April 2010.

Like everyone has posted so far... a drastic upheaval in your life will definitely throw a wrench into the works... give it a little while to sort itself out...

i know it is hard to get things on a schedule... but, the sooner that you can get things down to a plan and work on that... the better you will feel... i personally think that at the moment, you are reacting to the stress of the process you have been through... now add to that a new environment, the stress/pressure starting now for the EAD & AOS... well, it's a wonder you haven't chewed your fingernails off!!!

honestly, try not to stress so much... and drink plenty of water (i always get the bottled), it helps with my cramps... not sure why though... but it does...

I'm wishing you all the best... a lifetime of happiness and love!

*hugs*

Blessings,

Lynne

Absolutely, stress can effect your cycle. Personally, I didn't have problems, but my daughter did, bless her heart! She was on for the entire first month we were here!! She was very upset at the whole upheaval of moving here. It will settle down - worrying too much will probably not help either.

If it doesn't, get yourself to the doctor - you get used to the system here after a while and it isn't that bad. One thing is for sure, they will check you out thoroughly, whereas they tend to work on the process of elimination at home, so you will know for sure if there is anything wrong in a really short time.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

Moods and emotion do play a part. I would leave it go a while, but not to long. At your age there could be endometriosis, which of course is not goint to kill you, but might be the explanation. And unfortunately, weight does play a part in conceiving, but I thought that was more with women who are grossly obese.

I wonder sometimes what goes on with female care in the UK. I thought it strange this last summer when the woman coming from the UK were upset over having a 'female exam' as part of their consulate physical. It's not my favorite thing to have done, but I've been prodded since I was fifteen, so I guess it doesn't stress me. Of course my husband couldn't tell me what the normal health exams for women in the UK are like - he never even had sisters!

Ditto here... Twice I have stopped for 5 months with no apparent reason. :o Now, with all this visa stress, :( my regular 28 days... start Tuesday mornings between 10am and noon... has been disrupted. Three months in a row I took pregnancy tests because I was always several days late... Freaked me out completely!

It is normal... roll with it. Stress really makes our bodies react!!! :crying:

Can the Naturalizatin process be so painless?!!

MAN ON DECK!!!

My wife has been irregular since she has been in the US.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
