Hello,

I got my visa and I have been in USA for 10 days. My fiance and I will get married two weeks later. Can I apply for a SSN before we get married? Actually I don`t know what to do before or after our official marriage?

Yes, you can apply for SSN before marriage. It can be done after too, but make sure to have at least 15 days before the I-94 expires.

Yes, they are exclusive of each other.

Phil (Lockport, near Chicago) and Alla (Lobnya, near Moscow)

As of Dec 7, 2009, now Zero miles apart (literally)!
