That what I was thinking, But I have seen a lot of people saying that the sooner to the interview it is, The better. But I don't know, I'll risk it and get it now anyways :)

I just checked the FAQs on the acro website and it said:

How long is my Police Certificate valid for?

There is no set period of time for which the Police Certificate is considered to be valid. The Police Certificate is only truly accurate on the date of issue. Embassies or High Commissions will usually require you to produce a Police Certificate which has been issued less than six (6) months before your visa interview.

...so not quite 12 months but actually 6 months. If it only takes 10 days to be produced, I'll get it filled out now and wait until NOA2 notification to send it, just to be safe!

I have the form filled out here right on my desk. The moment my fiancee gets the notification 2, I will deliver it and wait 3 days. Yep, three days. I work for the dutch government right now and have requested many of these in the past. It helps knowing your background checks out. In my line of work I cannot even have smudge or I won't get a job.

So for the me the longer it takes, the harder they are looking. The longest I had to wait was 2 weeks and that was the very first time I requested it. The times after it was 1-3 work days.

Anyone else hoping they will get approved before November? I want to be with her for her birthday at least give me that US GOV :-(

I'm not too worried about the police check as I have to get regular police checks for my job. The only thing is, I might go visit him next month as the distance is killing me, so I might do it before I leave in case I get NOA2 when I'm out there. I'm not letting anything delay us!!!

Come on, we are absolutely getting approved before November!! I'm expecting NOA2 in early August and hoping for visa in hand early September. Come on positive thinking!!! I'm trying not to be negative these days :)

I hope so. We had a RFE after we send it on the 7th. It got processed completely on the 28th (notification1). So the timeline suggests october. Which means November till I will fly.

I am positive. I barely check the website anymore for updates. All I think now is, when it comes, it comes. If not I guess we will have to wait. Soon the 5 months will be up and then we will move from there. Work and school is keeping my mind of things and with the World Cup and the Tour the France starting soon I have a occupied mind! Wish I could visit, but being that I am saving every penny for the AOS and the flight and medical, a visit is not an option right now. It causes us to fight more but we realize quickly its not worth it and then make up :-)

I am torn on the issue of police certificates. On one hand, I want to have Tanya get hers rolling now because it can take months in Russia to get it after applying in person. I do not want her to get it too early if the Moscow embassy will state it is too old which means AP until she gets another one which could be months again...grrrr. It is very strange how they do things there...you are registered in a city, but if you live in another city and never re-registered, then you don't exist there and therefor cannot get a police cert in that city. But, her address (mailing) appears on her g-325a and she never registered there so a certificate may not be available. So, hopefully they only require one from her city of registration...which is still an 8 hour drive...poor dear.

On the other hand, I do not want to wait too long because it can take months and the wait will have already been grueling enough as it is. That could turn 6 or 7 months into 10 - 11...ugh.

Owwww! I guess that is up to you to decide when to send for it, for the UK it only takes 10 days, so I should receive it by next week, I always want to see progress evem if it's marking my calendar, getting forms ready, clearing out the stuff I won't need :) I hope you can come to the right solution :)

August will be for most of us, but it all depends on how fast they can go through dec/January/February if they can get all of those out by end of july beginning of August then us March can hopefully hear middle of August through to September :)

Not to be a downer, but I'm not feeling optimistic about the 5 month timeframe that USCIS claims on their site. In just 11 days, I'll be exactly 4 months since NOA1. So that means right now, TSC has 1.5 months to complete petitions from Dec-Feb. Not happening.

Edit: Be prepared for up to 8 months processing.

I agree. I think people are being overly optimistic! In reality, we'll be lucky to be done before Christmas. We're not going to be there anytime soon.
