Just thought I would share my first NVC experience. Waited on hold for 48 minutes, lady was extremely rude and barely wanted to talk to me (I called as soon as they opened) Was shipped to NVC on August 28th and she told me it takes 25 business days to arrive from USCIS and up to 30 business days of processing after it arrives. Where on earth are they shipping this too before it gets there? Around the world apparently.

OK here's the deal. They're swamped with phone calls all day long about the same thing. Eager people anxiously wanting info. They do the same thing all day long, like robots. Some people hate that & let that out on their callers. The way call centers keep call volumes in check is by ensuring they don't get the same calls from the same people about the same subject everyday. So they give these astronomically long ETAs so you wait like a week or 2 before calling back, because they know if you do that before calling again, the next time you call you'll actually have an update.

Like I said im not going to call unless it takes a month. I doubt that will be the case but if...

There is no point in calling every day. The updates happen through that website and thats enough for me.

I posted it in my own journey thread, but I had NVC verify today that my case was shipped to the consulate 9-2-2014.

The shipping to the consulate is real quick. So now i will wait till I get my packet 3 at some point. I already have every needed beside some extra passphotos and the medical stuff.

I got notice today that my petition was shipped to NVC! Hope it keeps going at a decent pace.

So... I know some of you have access to what your embassy requires at the interview. It isn't posted for Belize anywhere, so do I just make sure I have everything listed in the general guides for the interview, you think?

Also, if I understand correctly, I just wait for the file to get to NVC, they turn around and send it to the embassy, and I wait for them to contact me? Or is there something else I should be doing at this point?

You can call NVC in a couple of weeks and see if they can give you your case #. For me it took 27 days before they had processed it and could give me my #, but for others it took less time. Once you have the case # you can set up and pay for your embassy interview.

Hi all, I called the NVC today and they said they received my case today and to wait 30 days for the case number. I hope it doesn't take that long though..... :clock:

Great to hear they received your case! I don't think it takes that long. From the patterns I'm seeing, those petitions which were sent on 8/27 have been "received" today. Those for 8/28 will be "received" on 9/8 and so on. From these patterns, those petitions which were shipped on 8/28 for example maybe will have a case number assigned on 9/9. Just a possibility!

Mine was sent on the 25th and received today. Why hasn't yours been received? It was sent before mine.... Have you called them. Everything is very random and almost like open to chance with this entire process.

How do you pay? I mean do they give you a link or something? I think over here we pay at the interview. I will have to look into that.
