You called NVC not USCIS right? Weird. I'm the beneficiary and NVC spoke to me every time I called them. They didn't tell me my fiance had to call. It was only when I had a case number that they asked me to give my name and date of birth and also my fiance's and then they could give me the number. Maybe just try again and talk to someone else next time? Although if they can't tell you anything it is probably not in the system yet

There's some confliction of info. Beneficiary can speak to NVC but not USCIS.

Tye nvc number barely works. I had to call like 10 times kept getting a busy tone. My fiancee tried 20 times now still a busy tone.

I called on Friday, asked to speak to a Tier 2 officer. The wait time was 40 minutes and I was at work, so I left my number, and shock of all shocks, they did call back in 40 minutes. I don't know the officer's name or number. He just told me he sent an inquiry to the TSC and I should receive an update on the case within 2 weeks. Whether that helped with yesterday's approval or not, I don't know.

Ugh well that was an exercise in futility. Tier 2 I got today told me to file an e-request which obviously didn't work and threatened that if he put in an inquery it would slow our case down by a month. Makes no sense.

We were approved on August 25th, 2014 and received a shipping notice the 29th of August.

It's designed that way. I tried 60 times my 1st time calling NVC.

If you call early in the morning it's a lot easier. I called this morning, about 5 minutes after I started calling I got through... but then I waited 45 minutes on the line.

You can call anytime to check, you don't have to wait. If it's not in the system they'll just tell you that and you can try again the next day and keep trying until they give you the case number.
