Call them, they'll send you a release form and there should be a space to state your concern.

I did all those and nothing worked for me, until I called the Ombudsman

How do you contact the ombudsman? :)

By clicking on form DHS7001

http://www.dhs.gov/case-assistance

I actually called them after submitting the case. The lady called the, and an hour latter they were working on my case. I'm not sure this is common, but that's what happened to me.

Hi,

Is there a template available for drafting the letter to my Senator? Just want to make sure I have all info needed and in the correct format before I do the same...It's about time for some action on my part, any assistance with the letter details would be GREATLY appreciated.

I would go to your senators' and congressional reps' website and click on whereever it says "How can I help you?." In my case, all 3 had a privacy form with a small space to decribe the issue. On way I actually had to handwrite it. It was the congressman's office that actually got back to me right away with an answer.

That being said, they can inquire about the status of your case but can't really do much to speed it up. I contacted them in hopes that their inquiry would inspire someone to look at our case so I was totally shocked to find out in had gone to the "Bad Place" of security checks

And I got this reply from the congressman's office right away. What do you think this means?

"I spoke to our congressional liaison at the Texas Service Center regarding your fiancé petition. There was a delay due to a hit on R’s name and this issue had to be resolved. The file is currently in transit back to the officer. The liaison could not provide a timeframe for a final decision."

This I can be of help with since I do this a lot at my job. A "hit" is when doing a background investigation and it is called a "wanted check" through the NCIC (National Crime Information Center) system. After running your Fiance's name and date of birth, a "hit" or "potential hit" means either he/she has an active open warrant. Now this will hit on something that is close to the name of your fiance sometimes etc etc as it is a very sensitive system, although it takes some time to confirm the name and DOB are an EXACT match to your fiance's and in many cases it is not. Therefore after confirmation it is cancelled on a positive hit for your fiance and he is cleared for a wanted check.

Ohhhh I see. We were thinking it was because he had a turnaround on a visa waiver 10 years ago, which is why he always gets second interviews at the airport. I guess it's reassuring that now it's all done!

Thanks for the insight!
