Except for the last two who were Jordin and Phil the whole thing was #######, tonight or next week we should see by the number of votes cast just how many people tuned in to see Sanjaya. He wasn't much of a singer but he sure was the sugar that kept the flies coming.

Melinda was awesome. Just because she does it week after week doesn't diminish her performances.

Suckjaya was a no talent joke. He had no voice or personality and shouldn't have made Hollywood let alone the top 12 or 7.

Votes =/= Viewers. I watch every week but haven't voted once. The voting format is stupid anyway.

The all pretty much suck this yr!! Som eof them have nice voices, but need more than that to get by on!! Snajay was a bad singer, but at least he made it interesting. My wife actually saw him at Dulles (Washington DC) airport last Saturday morning.

Go over the previous seasons and find me one with 3 vocal talents of Jordin, Melinda, and Lakisha. I'll save you the trouble - you'll not find it. This show is a *SINGING* competition. Even Simon, the creator of the show, has to remind people of that over and over.

It may be a "singing" competition, but there are other things to consider. Not everyone who makes their decision to vote for, bases it soley on singing. Everyone has a different definition of what "American idol" should be. Soem make it solely on a person singing ability, others make it on looks, some make it on charisma. Tyler Kicks was the winner last season, and in "my" opinion wasn't the best singer, but he was interesting to watch, and he had personality

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

And as a result of being a very vocally limited goofy doofus with personality he has had limited commercial success given the marketing machine behind him. The voice counts.

Plus it's not like the American voting public can be counted on to get it right. Just look who's in the big seat at the head of the government.

Jordin voted off? What a joke this show has become. I canceled future recordings. When they change the crappy (pun intended) elimination format I'll watch again but not until.

Maybe time to stick a modem in one of my computers and use an autodialer to join the VFTW crowd.

Whaaaaa? I watched almost to the end and it was down to Lakisha, Chris, and Jordin. He said Lakisha was safe. Then Jordin & Chris were standing and he said Chris was safe so I assumed Jordin was eliminated. That's when I hit stop. If they said everyone was safe after that I missed it. Question: Was Jordin really last in votes?

I *really* hope they change the show after this season. The voting system is just stupid. :bonk:

Question: Was Jordin really last in votes?

No telling. But I don't think so. What better way to keep people watching - and donating - but to make it seem that a top player and most certainly the best performer of the night is going home.

Ugh, that's why I don't normally watch the elimination show anymore. I hate the way they over-dramatize it. I saw this one was 2 hours so I knew it wasn't a 'normal' one. Oh well, at least we'll get to see Jordin sing some more.

I felt so sad for Jordin last night, she was in tears as I am sure that she also thought she was gone during the short pause before being told she was also safe. What they did to her was cruel, very cruel, they should have told hris and Jordin to sit down at the same time since they were safe, notone after the other. Whoever thought of doing it the way they should have their assets kicked big time for inflicting such pain even for just a short time.

like I think I have said before, I think the voting system is working ok because everyone who has a chance of winning American Idol is still in the competition... that being Jordin, Lakisha, Melinda or Blake...

sure some of the people that got voted off were good singers but they never would have made it to the finals anyways
