So to me it looks like the past few seasons have had more talent then the first couple of seasons... so not sure why people are saying there is less :unsure:

I agree with all of your evaluations except in season 5 I don't think Elliot or Taylor were very good singers.

IMO this season has the best top 3 or 4 singers (vocalists) of any other season.

you dissing my Elliot ?? :P I agree with Taylor though....... he did have personality and I think that is why he won...

Sorry. :P I wasn't a fan of him. I think Chris is this years Elliot - for me anyway. Taylor reminds me of someone who would sing in a bad Vegas show. He's got personality though, I'll give him that. I think Chris Daughtry was the best of the bunch. He didn't win but at least he got exposure and a contract.

at first Chris (not Daughtry) did remind me a little of Elliot but then as the weeks went on Chris got worse and worse.... so I stopped comparing them....

OMG

i *had* forgotten him... thanks for bringing that image back to my mind... *coughs*

i agree... i dont know how on earth he made it past original auditions... much less hollywood

oh, and...

WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

sanjaya is gone!!!!!!

it was very interesting watching the reactions of the other contestants after the announcement and during his performance... very telling...

now it can be a real competition...

so, the order i think they will go home now:

phil

chris

blake

lakisha*

jordin*

and melinda will win it

*not sure between lakisha and jordin

jordin has really bloomed... i liked her from the beginning, but she is really finding herself and maturing

i also think blake is showing some progress... hes showing some versatility... and altho he may not have the best voice (not that its bad either), he can change things up and perform

im sorry, i know some of yall like chris, but i just cant see it... but then again, i dont see what justin timberlake has to offer... his country song made me cringe... he has this whiny kind of tone to it, in addition to that nasal quality... and if he was trying to be nasal, then it seems that he tries to be nasal every week... and i just want to also say that i found his timing of his condolences to the VT victims a little suspect... it would be one thing to say it as he did his opening piece before he sang, but to do it just when he is asking you to vote for him???? maybe i am just too cynical, but i felt as if he was using that to try and garner votes rather than be genuine

melinda handled herself well when faced with that choice... that has to really suck to be put in that position... though she should have had an idea they might try it after seeing it being done to taylor last year

*heads to bed with super-vegas-style-poorly-done copacabana running thru my head.... yikes... bobbys huge grin.... *twitches

Have nothing to add except - what she said!

Except for the last two who were Jordin and Phil the whole thing was #######, tonight or next week we should see by the number of votes cast just how many people tuned in to see Sanjaya. He wasn't much of a singer but he sure was the sugar that kept the flies coming.

The all pretty much suck this yr!! Som eof them have nice voices, but need more than that to get by on!! Snajay was a bad singer, but at least he made it interesting. My wife actually saw him at Dulles (Washington DC) airport last Saturday morning.

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

That pretty much sums up how I saw last night. Blake picked a terrible song for this show. I *love* Imagine but it's not exactly vocally challenging. I'm tired of hearing Chris and his 'wussy' boyband voice. I now FF though him. For me Chris and Blake were by far the worst last night. I can't imagine one of them not being gone.
