you know i've always loved this show.....but i am disappointed by this season as a whole. and i would never buy any of these artists CDs if they had an album..... then i realize, i've never bought ANY of the past AI contestants CDs before!

hehe ;) still like to watch the show anyway. i wish simon would go back to being more mean. it was more entertaining then!

Wow, yeah I figured Haley would ####### her way through awhile longer. Figuring on the votes of young teenage guys and red blooded male jocks! *L*

Am I the only one that's disappointed with AI as a whole this season? Is this really the best that millions of singing American's had to offer?

I think some of the best vocal talent is in this season. IMO no other season has 3 vocalists as good as Melinda, Jordin, and Lakisha. There's a lot of 'dead weight' in every season though. Go back over the years and you'll see what I mean. ;):P

I am disappointed in AI this season too. I wish they would change the voting process to include the judges opinions. I know Simon is a bit harsh with his words but he does know talent when he sees it, unlike most of the voters this season. Obviously the people voting do not take what the judges say to heart.

The voting public needs to be either eliminated or greatly reduced from the process. Maybe get a panel of judges from the industry and let them decide? I suspect that things will change after this season but with the shows popularity who knows?

I think the popularity of the show is that the public can vote for who they like etc.... if you cut that out, the show wouldn't be the same... and this is just a show anyways..... meant for entertainment.....

you have to remember it was the judges who put Sanjaya in the Top 12 not the American voters :no:

Season 1....

Only 2 good singers that season... Kelly Clarkson and Tamyra Gray.. the rest sucked... I was just looking at the pics from that season and I don't even remember most of them....

This Season's Sanjaya was Justin Guarini... and he made it to the Top 2 :P

Season 2...

Only 2 or 3 good singers that season, Ruben Studdard, Clay Aiken (?) and Kimberley Locke.... there were a few others that were so so...

Season 3...

I didn't really watch Season 3, so I can't really give an opinion on it....

Season 4...

Only 2 or 3 good ones that season again... Carrie Underwood, Bo Bice, and Jessica Sierra...

That years Sanjaya was Anthony Federov...

Season 5...

This season had the most talent, I think about 6 or so people....Chris Daughtry, Elliott Yamin, Katharine McPhee, Mandisa, Paris Bennett, Taylor Hicks (although Taylor is kind of questionable to me, I didn't really find him all that talented... :P)

That season's Sanjaya was a toss-up between Ace Young and Chicken Little (Kevin Covais)...

and Season 6....

there was quite a lot of talent this year I thought but only about 4 that have any chance of winning based on talent... Melinda, Lakisha, Jordin & Blake... I thought Gina was really good too and hubby thought Stephine Edwards should have made it to the Top 4 or 5..

and this year's Sanjaya is Sanjaya .....

So to me it looks like the past few seasons have had more talent then the first couple of seasons... so not sure why people are saying there is less :blink::unsure:

If there's anything that's become obvious to me throughout my watching of AI, it's that judging talent is very subjective and personal taste is a big factor. Not having watched seasons 1-4, I can't agree or disagree with your evaluation, but I do know that for every person who agrees with you there will be someone who is vehemently opposed to what you said. :lol:

So to me it looks like the past few seasons have had more talent then the first couple of seasons... so not sure why people are saying there is less :blink::unsure:

If there's anything that's become obvious to me throughout my watching of AI, it's that judging talent is very subjective and personal taste is a big factor. Not having watched seasons 1-4, I can't agree or disagree with your evaluation, but I do know that for every person who agrees with you there will be someone who is vehemently opposed to what you said. :lol:

well, I did include people in my talented list that I didn't necessarily think were talented but other people did...
