I'm recording 'The Unit' and 'Southpark' during the American Idol show so I can't watch it tonight. I'm not too into the try outs anyway. I wish they wouldn't give attention to those who can't sing but just want their 15 minutes of fame. I'll watch after they get to Hollywood. :)

I agree with you. The bad ones are good for a laugh but it is getting ridiculous. I want to see the good people!

Wow what a disappointment :angry: i WASN"T impressed at all tonight. Simon wasnt as cruel as usual though. Paula just basically sat there and didnt say much, odd :blink: Randy annoys the he!! outta me. But on the upside the 2 i did like were from Wisconsin!! The 16yr old girl and the girl who sang Somewhere over the Rainbow. Pity we didnt see more of the good ones. OMG Seattle looks like its gonna be interesting :lol:

Jesus Minneapolis was baaaaad. I just wanted to see if anyone I knew embarrassed themselves! :blush: The daughter of a girl my mom knows from high school got through, though.

I can't see bothering to watch until they have sorted through the City Auditions. I get tired of seeing the hopelessly untalented humiliating themselves in public. It's just not funny for me anymore.

On the flip side, we were watching the City Auditions last year, and as soon as Taylor opened his mouth, I knew he was gonna get sent to Hollywood.

Lovin' it! We laughed all the way through, and Craig even watched about 1/2 this time..he usually thinks it's pretty lame... :lol: I'm stoked to find out there's another auditions one tomorrow night...I didn't pay attention, and I thought Seattle was next Tues.

Even though I enjoyed it, I agree that it seemed kinda lame compared to some of last years. Hopefully it'll get bumped up a notch tomorrow night...some were pretty hysterical..and oh yeah..to whoever said about the 'cowardly lion' girl..OMG..what was she thinking??? sheesh. I could see if she was all laughy and jokey about it, but she seemed to think she really had a concept goin' there... and that guy in the red shirt at the end who came out cussing and screaming..the "juggler, dancer" etc...toooooooooo funny.

I didn't notice anyone I thought had a really outstanding voice tonight though. Ah, well...we'll see what tomorrow brings! :) M.

I'm thinking that the weird blond woman who was totally tone deaf, and who claimed to be a holder of a degree in voice and who was not upset at being cut, was some sort of plant. If so, it didn't go well. She was almost as bad as an actor as she was a singer.

I really felt for the kid who sang in the phony raspy rock voice (and was so sad at being cut). You could tell he could actually sing, if he would just can the raspy sound.

Personally I found tonight's show boring. They should fast forward through this initial selection part (especially some of the not so funny bad singers) and get on with the process.

I agree on the raspy-voice guy...I bet it was decent if he could quit that too. I felt really bad, embarrassed too for him when he ran out just frantic for an ABBA song...his parents were looking around all in a tizzy trying to help him find one too. :(

I liked it when the guy from the Reagan got thru :thumbs: I loved the Rascal Flatts song he did, too. :)

Oh, I forgotttttt about that woman saying she had a degree in vocal something or other too! That was hysterical...gave me a good couple minutes of laughter, that one! :lol:

Tonight's show is supposed to be really funny (or so fox reports). They said that it is the best of the audition shows. :) Of course they also said that Paula was drunk (in her fox interview earlier this week) when I thought she looked more under the influence of a stimulant, so don't go by that.

Poor Rocker boy...If he could have only just sang without that raspiness :( Oh well. I hate that they use people's sad backstories like they do - like the "Crack Baby" girl.

Overall I was pretty bored. There were a few funny moments - what's with Simon calling everyone sweetheart all of a sudden...

And yeah, Jewel was mean - but I mean...these ppl honestly think they can sing....so why give them false hope of a career? Ya know?

Finally finished with immigration in 2012!
