Hello everyone. I am trying to get my wife her green card. she is currently in Mexico and I am in the U.S.A. I am a U.S. citizen. everything was going OK until i ran into the affidavit of support deal. this is my situation. I was living in Mexico with my wife until i returned to the U.S. last month and started working. I make ok money but my job is seasonal, meaning that i don't work or get paid the whole year. that means that i will have to get a joint sponsor. this is where it gets complicated for me. my dad is willing to be my joint sponsor. he is retired but has enough income to be the sponsor. However, one of the problems is that on his last tax return I still appear as a dependent of his, although i no longer am a dependent. will i have to wait until january so that he can get another tax return without me as a dependent? and can my dad be my joint sponsor if we share the same address? does that mean we are members of the same household? my other question is: do i need to provide tax returns even though i just started working and don't have any? do i have to wait until i get my tax returns to be able to file the I-864?

I am very confused about this and wonder why they have to make it so complicated. thank you all in advance for your answers
