So, I have this friend.................. He wants to know...............

The AOS papers have been filed, EAD & AP issued. No activity on the I-485 yet.

What is the best way to stop the process?

Too bad for your friend though..... who wants to know..... I'm glad it isnt you wanting to withdraw it... :P

On your second message it switched to "I", so please do correct it and the rest of the messages... because I dont think your friend would want you to impersonate him/her.... hehe

I noticed that change also. Regardless -- hope he, she, "I," or the friend gets that situation resolved.

So, back from the infopass.

Met with a pleasant cheery young staffer.

She told me if I was withdrawing the affidavit of support, I should also withdraw support for the I-129f. Which I did.

She said I did not need to mail a copy of the letter, but I will anyway.

Hopefully I got in front of this. My luck the green card will show up in the mail tomorrow.

You guys think I need to mail a withdrawal if I hand over a copy face to face tomorrow?

yup. no one can tell you where the casefile is,

so

in the packet:

1. copy of I-485 receipt notice

2. letter of withdrawal on the I-864

send off via registered mail with delivery signature to:

1. lockbox address first used and

2. address in the I-485 receipt notice

then

hand carry into a local USCIS office on an infopass appointment, ask for a supervisor at the glass,

then hand over the packet to the supervisor and tell him/her to punch it up, make the entries, and give you a signed hand receipt for the withdrawal (don't leave till that happens) .

apologies if you read another one of my missives about this - i've been slack this week.

[yes, thats 3 packets to prepare]

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Ning, a year ago you told me something smelled funny. I should have listened to you.

Very sorry about all of this of course. Listen to me? No. I think you did what was best for you so that even now you will never need to question yourself. The effort you put in was very well done so this is just a matter of a connection that wasn't quite right I suppose.

The outcome is not what you wanted but at least you are able to do damage control as I see you are doing now. Time is important for many reasons.

I hope for the best for you. I am sure there are members here that know your story and would help in anyway possible.
