Birth Certificate for Interview

I've read some people talking about "long form" versus wallet sized BC. Do I need the long form certificate for the interview at Montreal? How do I get one if I do not have it?

Google birth certificate (your province of birth). It'll put you in touch with whichever provinces department you need to contact.

It needs to have both parents names on it. Not sure if your wallet sized one does or not. Best be on the safe side, request it now.

My fiance used his short form birth certificate in Montreal, and we didn't have any problems. If you can get your long form and want the peace of mind, go for it, but I don't think it's required. He was born in Newfoundland, if that makes a difference.

I had to order mine as well from BC and I'm in Alabama, and it only took about a week. Just to give you a bit of a timeline. They are sent out from Victoria I believe.

ordered mine from BC website cheap and new one looks cool too so . my wallet one didnt have my parents name on it so thats why I ordered

You will need the long form that has your parents' names on it.

You order them from vital statistics in your province.

Andre only had the wallet size birth certificate also. He ordered one online, it took about 2 weeks to get it.

Only the long form birth certificates have parents names on them, for most provinces. I was told to provide long form so ordered some online from Nova Scotia.
