I've only been in the waiting pool for a month, but I just sent a letter to my senator as well (the one who says on his site that he works with federal institutions). I mailed it out this morning, including the form allowing him to contact them on my behalf. So, I expect it to reach him next week. Hopefully it does some good. Obviously, I hope it helps my case, but I wrote on behalf of everyone stuck at tsc. I figure it either helps or nothing happens. It's not going to hurt me any. I also explained that some items I needed got stuck in the mail or I would have filed earlier. Btw, congrats on getting your noa2! That's good news for all of us...hopefully they start moving faster.

I hope you are right but unfortunately, unless several representatives receive several letters on the same subject, they will probably only address the specific instances. The TSC will probably only address the specific instances as well...in other words, the ones who write will benefit the most and TSC will putter along as usual until it becomes (if it does) a major issue. Good luck on yours though..:)

Well, maybe all of us writing will push something through...I dunno. It's worth a shot. And I tried it...I'm hoping mine will help. It seems he voted against immigration reform-tho that was on illegals living here getting their citizenship, so fingers crossed that he's ok with immigrants in general.

I am the petitioner.

I sent my letter to my senator on Thursday evening. I just got a call from his office this morning. They want a copy of my NOA1 and then they'll "put together a plan of action".

I do want to make it clear to everybody here and to my senator's aid when I talk to him again, that yes, I want action on my own file, but I really am looking for there to be a significant change for all of us; a push for reform. Obviously the system is flawed and we need our representatives to do what they can, by introducing legislation or whatever, to reform the system. It's going to take all of us pushing for change for anything to happen.

I contacted two senators. I got a reply from the office of the one saying that they can ask where it is but all service centers including VERMONT (who aren't doing them anymore) are at 5 months. I replied saying that Vermont doesn't take them anymore & listed my reasons for sending them a letter again

I am the petitioner.

Strange. Mine didn't say that. I think maybe they take a more aggressive approach to these things here in New Mexico. The senator I sent it to is one who makes immigration one of his major issues, which is why I chose him.

Good luck to you.

After I sent the letter to that senator I looked into him more & realized he voted against immigration reform. So, I sent another letter to another major senator in my state who is for immigration reform & doesn't vote no all the time on bills that help people out. So...we will see if I get a reply from him that's more helpful.

I am the petitioner.

Wow - this is good news! I agree, if we all put in a concerted effort by writing to our respective senators, there is hope that they might address the discrepancy issues between TSC and CSC, whether it happens by addressing inefficiency at TSC or by moving some of our apps to CSC. One way or other, this will mean some dent in our long and painful waits. I will write to my senators tomorrow! Come on, TSC filers, we need us all to act now!

I hope none of you are taking my comments as personal attacks, just conversing as an adult here)))

I read the letter, it is a valiant effort to get things changed. If you were completely selfless and doing it for "the people" then you wouldn't have included your service # or even written the letter anonymously. I mean do you think they were going to look at your letter stating how many hardships you face being away from your significant that you stated then not try to inquire about your case or expedite it?) Lets be real here and call a spade a spade, shall we?

There's nothing wrong with it! yes it is hard to wait and sure the 5 month wait time sucks!

I think that a lot of you do not understand how a service center works. They have metrics to meet (processing times and # of files processed per person), They have team leaders that know CSC is light years a head of them and are definitely catching flak for it. These centers go in cycles, CSC hasn't always been this fast and TSC hasn't always been this slow. A little over a year ago the wait times were around 8 or 9 months. So in reality 5 months is pretty good.

I have no control over what anyone does. I would love to see everyone get approved but at the same time seeing so many people wracking their brains out over the TSC processing lag is unsettling. Just speaking my mind, don't take any of it personal. Good luck and I will stay out of this thread, sorry if I upset anyone)))

Staying out of this thread and airing it elsewhere is not the point TheFoxxy. The point of OP's letter was to appeal to address the discrepancy between TSC and CSC. Regardless of what the reason is, the least they can do is to balance the work load -- or adjust the workload to balance throughput based on efficiency or whatever other factors. I don't see how ANYONE can object to that, so frankly, I don't see your point. Just because some have waited for 5 months doesn't mean that is what everyone should do, when there might just be even a miniiscule chance that the inefficiency could get addressed. For all we know, we will all end up waiting for 5 months or longer -- which presumably will make you feel better, than if we tried to do what we could about it? Really?

Thanks everyone for the write ins to VJ. I can see the emotions here and its unsettling indeed. I think for me the issue is to inconsistency between service centers which maybe we can address with the Senators. Someone said an anti-reform Senator would be of no use...I think the contrary....One of the reasons we are in this mess as lawful citizens applying for LAWFUL entry of non-citizens we are being shafted......I think immigrations reform is just another way of saying make the 'illegals' legal. ie jump the fence and soon enough one will be a citizen...therefore that Senator might help out more...

For myself I am waiting 4 months and two weeks since application at the TSC. I think the inconsistency is my issue....and writing the senator preferably both for my state together with a Whitehouse.gov letter would probably be better. I plan on doing this

I dunno, my one senator who is anti reform isn't being any help-his office lady, anyway. She said she will contact them to see where my case stands, but we all know the answer she will get. Some arbitrary date they pull out of the air. All I can do is hope that the other senator I contacted wants to help & actually reads the stats I used. Yeah, Cali's site says 5 months, but stats show otherwise.

I am the petitioner.

That's so frustrating. These are our supposed "representatives". They work for us, right?

Thanks for the thread and letter. The only concern I have is disclosing my identity and TSC ID to the Senator. Is there a possibility of 'repercussions'?

Man how I wish I had seen this letter format before. I called and they were super nice. Send me a release form geared to Texas service scented and sent an inquiry in 2 business days to TSC. On a different note, we all wish the best for each other. Yes it sting when someone else is processed earlier than the other, but we can't fault them. So I rather be happy and support each other. we all love our better halves and are at the mercy of the system. So lets stay positive. Cheer for the ones who got it and double cheer for the ones hanging in there

Respectfully, you're not "stuck at TSC", you are one month into a process with a current stated processing time of 5 months.

It may not hurt you any, but surely you have enough awareness outside yourself to realize that this is not only tying up the valuable time of a congressional staffer but also of the department at USCIS that deals with congressional enquiries.

The waiting is awful, sure. Most of us here have been through it and survived it. But attempting to circumvent that by involving a senator just over a month from filing... are you kidding me?

I am not at all of the school of thought that says "I waited 6 months and therefore so should you", but I strongly suggest you figure out a better way to deal with the times in this process that you have to wait patiently, because there are a hell of a lot of them. Wasting the time of senior elected officials for a matter as trivial as this is absolutely beyond ridiculous.
