Got my interview this week -- do I need to translate my birth certificate? It's from Quebec and it's in french. If so does it have to be done by a professional or can I do it and just get it notarized? Only a few words "certificate de nuisance, nom, pre nom, pete, mere etc. Translation wasn't required when we applied for kids UC citizenship but that was a way back.

No you do not need it translated.

Why are you doing a K3 when you're going to Montreal? Why wouldn't you get the IR1/CR1 like your timeline and profile says?

Thanks! I got a reply from the Vancouver Consulate -- I DO need to have my birth certificate translated.

I-129F approval received by NVC first and after a year's wait I decided to proceed with k3. Factor in airfare from YVR to Mtl, car, hotel etc it's really not much more to file AOS from the US. This process up to now has been over 13 months.

That's retarded. Two official languages in Canada and you have to have it translated? #######?

Just do it yourself IMHO (or someone else who is fluent in both languages.)

I just remembered you're not in Quebec but in BC.... Had a brain fart, sorry. LOL Second time today if that makes you feel any better?
