Well Met Everyone,

First of all, thank you reading my post. This immigration process is horrible...the people at the consulate are the worst...well I am almost done...our case got expedited...too late to help us but anyway it was expedited...now I made the ASC appointment and Consulate appointment, but it also says to do the DS-260 online which I cannot do due to NOT having NVC case number...there is a case number but this does NOT work...please help....

thanks

My case was Expedited...this means the NVC has forwarded my case to the consulate in CD Juarez....I do not deal with the NVC anymore....the expedite took so long to get approved...it has served us no good and now making it difficult for to just complete this process...how can the Consulate send us a letter defining us to follow the instruction perfectly when they can't even allow us the chance to do it....we ask for time off to take care of these long difficult issues...the appointment are limited in 2-3 weeks...you cannot choose an appointment any further in advance....in my case they didn't give me an Invoice number...I call the number in CD Juarez (656-212-3773) and was hung up on because the person on the other end of the line was upset...he didn't know what to do...fortunately the 3rd person I called sent a message to the consulate to request for a Invoice ID Number...he said it will take a week or so....what if I have to reschedule due to not getting the Invoice Number in time for my wife's DS-260 and my 2 weeks of vacation I set aside for this are wasted because there are no more appointments due to me waiting for the Invoice Number...this is crazy...I seriously have NEVER EVER ran into anything like this before....

Oh by the way...on the Consulate Letter it says "Case Number", but the DS 260 application online site asks for "NVC Case Number"...as I work at the hospital and exact is word we take seriously...one would think they are not the same...but according to the CD Juarez help number I posted above..they are....fyi

Keep calling the consulate until you get an answer.

When my case was fowarded to the consulate (expedited) I wasn't aware of this so I called my consulate to get confirmation. I called maybe 3 different numbers, lost count of the number of people I spoke to and how many times I was transferred. I was even transferred to an overseas call centre. I kept getting the standard "send us an email" response. FINALLY I was able to speak to someone who knew what they were doing and confirmed date case left NVC and date they received it

Call your consulate, try to talk to a human and don't give up until you get an answer

I figured this out....posting for those whom may need the help in the future....I called my Congressperson...an assistant helped me out in getting and Invoice ID number within 2 hours...he called the NVC for a number....by the way...it took us 3 hours plus to fill out the DS-260...be sure to save it every 30 minutes or so...or you will have to start over again...what a hassle....
