My husband did, yes. I get yearly gyn exams at a normal doctor because it is important for women to check for the early stages of cancer and other problems. It can save your life.

A genital peek at an immigration medical is far less invasive than a full gyn exam.

Cancer can be checked by blood test too.they was checking u for disease not for gender.

How is cancer diagnosed?

There is no single test that can accurately diagnose cancer. The complete evaluation of a patient usually requires a thorough history and physical examination along with diagnostic testing. Many tests are needed to determine whether a person has cancer, or if another condition (such as an infection) is mimicking the symptoms of cancer.

Effective diagnostic testing is used to confirm or eliminate the presence of disease, monitor the disease process, and to plan for and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment. In some cases, it is necessary to repeat testing when a person’s condition has changed, if a sample collected was not of good quality, or an abnormal test result needs to be confirmed.

Technical instructions for Civil Surgeons.

http://www.cdc.gov/immigrantrefugeehealth/exams/ti/civil/technical-instructions/civil-surgeons/medical-history-physical-examination.html

Medical History and Physical Examination

A. Scope of the Examination

The purpose of the medical examination is to determine whether the alien has 1) a physical or mental disorder (including a communicable disease of public health significance or drug abuse/addiction) that renders him or her ineligible for admission or adjustment of status (Class A condition); or 2) a physical or mental disorder that, although not constituting a specific excludable condition, represents a departure from normal health or well-being that is significant enough to possibly interfere with the person's ability to care for himself or herself, or to attend school or work, or that may require extensive medical treatment or institutionalization in the future (Class B condition).

  1. The medical examination requires

A physical examination, including an evaluation of mental status, sufficient to permit a determination of the presence and the severity of Class A and Class B conditions. The physical examination is to include

  1. a mental status examination that includes, at a minimum, assessment of intelligence, thought, cognition (comprehension), judgment, affect (and mood), and behavior
  2. a physical examination that includes, at a minimum, examination of the eyes, ears, nose and throat, extremities, heart, lungs, abdomen, lymph nodes, skin and external genitalia
  3. all diagnostic tests required for the diagnosis of the diseases identified as communicable diseases of public health significance and other tests identified as necessary to confirm a suspected diagnosis of any other Class A or Class B condition

Cancer can be diagnosed with blood test? Lol. Its funny. New2013 it should be you who should update your knowledge and not Harpa. When simple physical examination can diagnose some communicable diseases no one wants to order blood test in such instance. If your doctor is a male then you can ask for Female Nurse or female employee from his staff to be there with you and doctor.

February 28- AOS package sent. ( I-130, I-485, I-765)

Point was not gender check at first, you took it literally. Point was "if immigrant can be asked to get undressed?" And answer is yes, immigrant can be and Harpa has provided proof of that. She just went into detail that what might be the reasons for checking genital organs. In the end she stands corrected about physical examination. No doctor takes Immigrant Medical check up as a joke, its their job and as you see in guidelines they are allowed for physical examination of External Genitals.

The value of this website is that it collects many different people's immigration experiences. Many people report on VJ that they needed to have a quick gender check at their medical, or that their doctor told them that that was why they were looking, or that after checking the doctor would say something like "female, confirmed." There are also reports of people asking their doctor why they were looking, and asking if people really lied about gender, and reports of doctors saying that "you'd be surprised."

If you use the advance search function then you will see many many stories of this. You don't have to believe it, but endless headbonk emoticons won't make it different.

I won't reply further.

Good day.

For someone who is so conservative about undressing for medical exam, but it seems ok to have a profile picture exposing an uncovered backside

A female nurse was there, nothing offensive.
