I recently had my Interview for F2A Visa and the interviewer said my Visa has been approved , i have questions but i felt scared to ask interviewer or call embassy for more questions as I thought they might still cancel my Visa

Anyways here are the questions :-

1. What are the conditions to be met to maintain Green Card ?

My uncle and someone also suggested i can delay taking my green card for 1-2 years , i doubt it is even possible

I know i can visit anytime from visa issue to US in 6 months time , but since i am since a student in China going to US often might not be so feasiable

2. My passport in Indian passport and since i am student in China , I had my interview and Visa stamped in Guangzhou , China

I dont think it matters but my mom is worried that i might be denied entry to US if i try taking flight from India to US , and i can only fly direct China to US

I might be wrong but i think my Visa came from Indian Visa Quota not China's Quota

once you obtain a green card. You can not stay outside the USA for more than 6months.

You should be able to fly from India once you have your immigration packet.

1. Yes, there are rules you must adhere to to keep your green card. Google "maintaining legal permanent residency."

Uncle is wrong. No such thing as waiting 1-2 years when there is a 6 month max expiration date on the immigration visa.

A green cars is for "living in the US.". A green card us not used for " visiting.". Refer to the Google search above.

2. No body cares where you fly into the US from.

Okay i think i know what you are going through as i had a similar experience. Studying abroad with greencard is tough. you will have to make trips back and forth atleast twice a year. The very minimum is once a year. You CANNOT go over 12 months outside of USA or you will lose your greencard.

1. Greencard means you are a Legal Permenant Resident which in term means you reside/live in the USA. If you stay outside the USA for periods longer then 6 months legally that means you aren't living in USA but your greencard is still valid. It is when you leave for more then 12 months that they take it away.

Your uncle is probably referring to a re-entry permit which you can apply for which can entitle you to stay outside the USA for upto 2 years. But that process is after you have received your greencard.

2. It doesn't matter where you travel from. It matters that you have complete documentation meaning the Visa Package.
