Hi there,

I'd appreciate if somebody could help me out. Long story short I got married on a K-1 visa. About a month ago I applied for AOS. I received a RFE and have 87 days to submit the necessary documents. A couple of weeks ago I applied for a Travel Document and Employment Authorization. My question is: If I receive the Travel Document, but don't happen to submit my RFE in time does the Travel Document become invalid? Thank you for your help!

Yes, it will.

Failure to reply to a RFE in a timely manner will cause your case to be denied for abandonment an any EAD/AP documents issued based on that I-485 to be revoked/cancelled.

Ah, another victim of the misinformation line.

Don't trust what the people on the phone say. They are not USCIS workers, but subcontracted workers who read from a screen.

Don't be late in replying to the RFE.

Good luck.
