Hello Visa Journey Member,

I have a question. My wifes Citizenship interview is tomorrow and I am reviewing everything we sent the CIS to make sure nothing is overlooked.

The question i have is regarding Part 8 of N-400 on disclosing trips outside the US. The questions in that section ask about any trips outside the US (24 hours or longer) in the last five years..

My wife only took 1 trip outside the US in the last five years that lasted 11 days to visit her family. When i filled out this form i disclosed this trip.

However, we did take a day trip to San Diego, CA and drove over the border to Rosarito, Mexico to goto the beach and eat lunch. The whole thing only lasted about a half day, so I did not disclose it on the application per the instructions on the form.

I know that the CIS officer will ask her about trips outside the US during her interview, are we required to disclose this or not? Will this cause a problem for her?

We do not want to get in trouble over this minor issue.

Please advise what the best way to handle this when asked tomorrow.

Best Regards,

Clive.

I just had my interview today and after confirming the trips I disclosed he asked if there are any other trips. In my case no, but for your wife she should just take that opportunity to clarify. She can simply say she was not sure because it's not 24 hour trip. I did this today with other things I wasn't sure needed to be included in the application. It should be fine. Good luck!
